221g for J1 VISA- Classes start in less than a Month

Hi All,

 

I appeared for my J1 visa interview on July 11th at US embassy Islamabad. I was given 221g slip saying my visa has been refused under 221g section. I got a green 221g slip along with white one asking me to submit my PhD advisors CV. I uploaded my CV online through US embassy Islamabd inquiries form on the same day.

 

My classes start from 15th August 2017. I wanted to ask is there any hope that I could get the visa in time for fall semester

 

I really don't want a deferral and even if i want I am not sure university will allow that because my admission letter says admit is valid only for fall semester.

They will not accpet your online submission believe me, you gotta send your documents through American Express or Speedex with 221g and thats how they recognise your 

documents, They will send you a message after 2 or three days and would tell you the same thing. You better send them through courier. Go to your near by courier service American Express or Speedex whichever you find near by, fill out a simple 221g forum with them, they will acknowledge your documents and after that they will send  to Embassy. Now its upto you.

I categorically asked Visa officer 2 times and she asked me to just go on inquiry form and upload CV of my PhD advisor there. Do I still need to courier the CV in hard form?

If I were you, I'd send it by mail too to be safe. Nobody can really tell you whether you have to do something 100%.

They told my wife the same thing but when I did, they said that they would like me to send it through courier service.
