Thank you this is what I need exactly! However they don't do psychiatric assessment tho.

They do not, however they are licensed in mental health evaluations.  And it still benefits your case if you see someone for what you are going through.

There is a phone number on that site too.  You can call them and see if they can suggest someone to do a psychiatric evaluation at little or no cost for immigration purposes.

But, at the same time, remember that you don't want to just go once to someone to get an evaluation done and then no actual counselling.  And you do need some counselling, my dear.

Yes for sure! I'll bear that in mind.

You need a psychological evaluation and NOT  psychiatric evaluation.  In the psychiatric evaluation, the doctor WILL just to check your behavioral, physical and cognitive histories, perform some tests and give you a diagnose. THIS KIND OF EVALUATION IS NOT INDICATED FOR VAWA CASES. Usually, a psychiatric evaluation has 2/3 pages

You need a psychological evaluation, the psychologist or counselor will describe your background, onset of the problems, describe the abuse in details, tests performed, diagnose, referral, treatment plan.   A good psychological evaluation has 9/13 pages.

I'll take responsibility for that. I was the one who asked him the question in the forum.  I will say though, that I only asked what county in general, not his specific coordinates.

The first and only time I asked to message someone on VJ to ask a question, I got a lecture from several regular forum people that I should be asking and giving all info in the public forum instead of using messages, and then questioned in the forums by someone else why I wanted to use the message feature.  Apparently to them this is an unwritten rule or something in VJ....still shaking my head over why it was such a big deal to privately message someone if I didn't want to disclose personal info in response to a question they were asking.

So now I'm damned if I ask to message someone, and damned if I don't.  Seems I can't win around here.

I think VJ doesn't have any rules regarding sending pm or not, I am not sure.  Many people here know that  I am a domestic violence advocate/ attorney and every time I give my opinion I give based on my field.  I advised the OP not to disclose in public some of his personal information for his own safety.

All survivors should limit the disclosure of certain pieces of information in public forums such as their names, age, nationality, D.O.B, where they live, how long they were married etc... these details when exposed may lead the abusers to find their victims.

Yes, this ^^, plus things like e-mail addresses, phone numbers, case numbers, and anything else that could expose or reveal identities.  This public forum is viewable by absolutely anyone, not just by other members.

General issues and advice (about immigration, procedures, paperwork, etc.) should be discussed openly in the forums, for the benefit of everyone and in case some advice is inaccurate and needs to be corrected.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I'll help explain what may have happened about the with the messaging comment.

In most of VJ forums many members agree that posting in public is best. It helps members get the best advice and other members can back up that information. We have seen bad information given by some and other members are able to correct it. If it was all in messages then that person is at risk of who knows what.

Some members who give amazing advice and putting it all out for everyone to see benefits all that read it. Can you imagine if Sandranj kept all her posts to PM's think how many ppl would miss out. In this forum less is more with identifying info so pm's are good also.

Hopefully that makes sense. I'm half asleep

Oh I get all that, and I agree with what you said.  My issue was that in another thread I was wanting to message personal information relevant to me and my situation to protect my own privacy and was then held at fault for NOT wanting to post it public.  And now ironically when doing it public as told to,  I should be doing it private lol.

I know it's two entirely different situations in terms of safety, etc.  Just found it ironically amusing, at best :)

Anyways, don't want to derail the thread here---either way, in public or private, I'm glad the OP is getting the guidance and help and support he needs.  And I agree Sandranj is a valuable resource here.
