My 2 years greencard expired and pending waiting for 10 years renewal, I got letter I-751 for 1 year extension of status and a travel stamp on my passport from USCIS. We plan go to Cancun for vacation, so in my case do i have to apply for mexico visa or i can enter to mexico without visa required? thank you very much :)

As a LPR of USA you do not need a visa:

effective May 2016 all those foreign nationals, regardless of their nationality, visiting Mexico for tourism, business or transit are NOT required to obtain a Mexican visa IF they hold a valid (non-expired) Visa or Permanent Residence of any of this countries: United States of America, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom or Schengen area (European Union)

As a note my wife and I went to Cancun with her extension letter and we had no problems (aside from having all of our bags inspected by Mexican authorities).

Thank you. Reason I ask because i emailed Mexico consulate in Houston and one of them answer me that i need to apply for visa. So i don't know if they changed anything for this case.

Yes my follow up comment noted that we used the 1 year extension letter when we traveled and it was fine. We flew southwest airlines and they knew how to handle it.

We went in April. Did you tell the Consulate that you were a LPR from the united states? If not this is where the confusion may have come from. The link I posted is from the consulate website so they gave you wrong information assuming you told them you are a USA LPR.

what is your country? Maybe they consulate was correct but its not very clear.

US Residents: If your United States visa stamped on your passport already expired but you have an official document proving your legal status in USA, you must apply for a Mexican visa (I-797 A Forms, Advance Parole Forms, I-20 OR DS-2019 Forms won’t be accepted to entering Mexico), unless you have a valid Visa for any of the countries listed above (Canada, Japan, United Kingdom or Schengen area) .

My wife wasn't from one of the countries listed or the Schengen area so maybe we just got lucky.

Hubby and I went to Cancun on 9/29/17 (for my bday) and I entered without a problem. They didn't ask for my green card OR extension letter, I actually offered the green card myself for review. They noted on the return document my A number and Green Card expiration date (7/28/17).

Maybe we got lucky cause it was really busy? Idk. My passport is Kenyan so, per their rules, I would have needed a visa. I didn't see the visa requirement until the night before the flight so I was hella nervous (in fact I didn't sleep). But as I said I entered the country with no issues and came back to the US without issues.
