Hi Guys,

Just posting an update.

I received a letter of approval from USCIS on Jan 29.

I called NVC today and they told me they received it on February 11 and as of today, I still have no case number.

Just curious, what's the reason for calling the NVC to get the case number if they're going to notify you with it ?  Is it just to speed the process up a few weeks?

I was trying to do that also, but I just called this morning, so I would wait until tomorrow. What did you put for the reason? Invoice ID? Or case status?

Do I need my parents birth certificate to send to USCIS while processing I-130 or I-864 ? Or, they will need to show it at US embassy abroad ?

If you are filling for your dad u need to send your parents marriage certificate initially to the uscis with the i130 form.  Later at nvc stage u will be required to send the above mentioned documents photocopies I mentioned before. Then at interview abroad your parents will take the originals with them.
