Hi VJ'ers. Question regarding the name that goes to the Certificate of Naturalization. Do they take the current legal name (Question No. 1 in Part 2 of the N-400 form) or the name as it appears on the Permanent Resident card (Question No. 2 in Part 2), considering that I did not mark the name change (Question No. 4)? My permanent resident card only shows last name, first name, middle initial; while the name I have on my SS card and driver's license includes my full legal name - last name, first name, middle name, so I was hoping this is what they will use when they issue the certificate. Any insight is much appreciated. Thank you and good luck to everybody!!!

If you did not request a name change, they will use the full name as it appears on the BOTTOM of the green card.  That is, not just the intial (unless the intial only appears on the bottom as well.  You will also have the opportunity during your Oath Ceremony to view the certificate beforehand to check that it's correct.

For instance, on my green card, it reads my middle intial on the top portion (where date of issue is, country of origin, etc.).

On the bottom with all the <<<< signs?  It reads my full middle name.

Thank you so much Going through, this is very helpful. Yes, the back of my green card spells out my middle name at the bottom. However, I was worried because when I filled out the form, I wrote the name as it appears in front of the card which has middle initial only. My biometrics appointment letter states my full middle name though, so I hope that should be good. Thanks again.
