Got a question regarding how long can an individual holding a conditional green card based on marriage remain outside the USA in the 2 year conditional stage of a marriage based green card?

Presently I'm a conditional green card holder (2 year card based on marriage)

I've got some important business to resolve in the UK which may take some time to complete.

How long do I have?

My lawyer said someting about no longer than 3 months but I cannot recall whether that is cumulative over the 2 year period or at 1 time.

My wife who is already less than happy about the prospect of my prolonged but necessary absence would be a lot more unhappy if I were to get turned back at US customs!!

Many thanks in advance for any help/info.

Allowed up to 180 calendar days at one time.

One solution (albeit pricier, maybe) is to book TWO return trips (with a short break in US between).

2008/07/21 I-751 (conditions removal) filed

2008/08/22 I-751 biometrics completed

2009/06/18 I-751 approved

2009/07/03 10-year GC received; last 0.5 done!

2009/07/23 Pras files N-400

2009/11/16 My 46TH birthday, Pras N-400 approved

2010/03/18 Pras' swear-in

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

No different than for a LPR without conditions, but be around for biometrics and possible interview after applying to remove conditions.
