I am mechatronics and Robotics Engineer. I did Master in Engineering from Germany. I know they do more check for science students . As CO told me on the day if interview I am sending your case back  to department of state this is because I am engineer? (When I got B1/B2 visa back 2013 they did hold my visa application for four months approximately )again ?

Yes, there are special background checks for people with some specific skills/education. One of them is robotics.

Yes, they could put you on AP for a while again. It is unfortunate.

But I couldn't understand again the same thing ? I am not working on drone robots and so on crazy 😜

people are getting approved the same day because someof them was not able to finish high school. Some one did good in past they put them on hold

i couldn't understand

OK. So maybe what you should do is tell them what you do when they ask. You can write on your CV what type of stuff you do (people get asked for the CV).

I know someone who was doing a PhD whose work was under "robotics" but the guy did like simulations and models so whenever they asked him at the Point of Entry what he did he just said that (simulations and models). If he said robotics they would grill him for like half an hour because there is a list of questions that type of people need to be asked.

Perhaps they do not like Germans?

Thank you for your reply.

CO said after interview you can send your cv or you can just write your details about education or job and so on.

I did it the same day. I am in AP since over 4 months. My wife sent them email and ask what causing delay. They said your husband visa application is in pending status. Because we are doing mandatory administrative processing . His application will be in pending status until administrative processing is finished. We ensure that there is no unnecessary delay. We expect that processing will be finished.id needed anything we will contact you.

Thank you for patience and understanding.

Can you please tell me my medical will wxpire on 13th of September. What If in worst case scenario I don't get my visa until then so i have to do retake medical?

she also informed me when i was leaving your visa will be issued from yesterday from the date of medical examination not today. I am pending since over 4 months?

Do you think love marriage cause delay to issue visa?If we are the same age same culture same country we filed DCF from Germany.

When I was giving interview I got a chance to look my file. It was written approved on form i130 with red mark. But there was also written SAO? It means security advisery opinion right?

Please answer my questions accordingly

i will really appreciate your help

AP is quite normal, just part of the process.

I've read people doing IR-1 that were asked for their CV at the consulate. In one case, the person didn't take it and the consular official got upset and told him he would have to send it to them after the interview. So take it to the interview. Try to explain what you do in bullet points in your current job. Or even add a section at the top in which you write something like "Job Interests" or "Job Skills", something like that, and you list them.

You might still go into AP if the title of your Masters is Robotics.

Even more than 4 months?

I was in U.S before back 2014

We have people post on here with timelines much more than 4 months.

Oh, now I read your other post.

It could also be because you are from Pakistan. They are doing more background checks and probably they asked the consulate in Pakistan to get information about you.

I think you are going to get the visa, you just have to be patient.

They are much more thorough for an IR-1 than for a visitor visa.
