Hi i have a question about Bank account and utility

Bank Account:

My wife wants to add me to her bank account but its far from our new home. We dont want go there twice because she starts work early in the morning and the bank closes by the time she gets off from work.

Can she add me to her BB&T Bank account without me having a GC? What documents do i need?

Utiliy bill

Can she add me to electricity and water bill or do i need to wait for my GC? What documents do they require?

For the bank account, you only need an ID (can be passport) and they might ask for you social security number, but it is not required.

For utility bill, they usually ask for your social security number. But it depends on the place; the last time I moved I did everything over the phone so it might be easy to add someone.

You could also get a cell phone and you could have a family plan for that.

sorry according to new guidelines added after 9/11 banks required either a SS number which he can apply for as he is married or ITIN

check with the bank you use and they will tell you the rules

i added Adil when he was still in Morocco with ITIN after filing taxes and W7 for the year we married
