Hey there

im gathering all my documents to send to NVC, im just not sure if the "carta de no antecedentes penales" is the right police certificate that i need to send. A very nice phone opperator told me it is. 

Anyone from Mexico who knows exactly whats the correct document that needs to be send!

Yes, that's correct! You will need to send a copy to NVC and bring the original with you to the interview. Good luck!

Hey guys I don't know if anyone knows this, but how ''old'' can the carta be? nowhere it is explained if it can be 2-3 months old, less than that?

I'm currently in Mexico City so I can get one, (I need it for a volunteering program) might try getting a fresher one in December, but I just wonder how old it can be, since it's a bit of a hassle getting it, even if you use someone else. Thank you

➺ 02/08/17 Case Assigned to USCIS Nebraska, sigh. 

➺ 02/13/17 We got our NOA1! PD: February 8th 

➺ 12/15/17 NOA2 finally! after 10 1/2 months. 

➺ 12/21/17 NVC confirmed they received our file 

➺ 01/22/18 Documents sent to Rapidvisa 

➺ 02/05/18  NVC received our package 

➺ 03/15/18 Case complete! 

➺ 06/27/18  We got our Interview date! August 28th 

➺ 08/30/18 The package arrived (waited at Juarez)

➺ 08/31/18 Entered the U.S with my husband 

➺ 02/13/19 Husband confesses he cheated, leaves

➺ 02/16/19 Husband decides to abandon the marriage

➺ 05/13/19  I am officially divorced. 

 ➺ 07/03/20  I file to remove conditions on my own     

 ➺ 08/13/21 I finally get my biometrics appointment 

➺ 02/26/22 I got my interview assigned: March 31st.

I wouldn't have it be less than 3 months, for something like this the more recent the better, but I know for other things they want something for within 3 months.

Figure you can go commit a crime after receiving it so they probably don't want to see a big gap.

Case sent to consulate: 11/20/2017     Received by consulate: 11/21/2017 (11/20 was a holiday in Mexico)

Interview Scheduled: Jan 2nd - I managed to get someones canceled appointment the very same day my case status turned to Ready.

Biometrics: Mexico City Dec 27th Medical: Mexico City Dec 28th

Case says READY but consulate says case is not in system, I jumped the gun and booked an interview but they say its invalid until I receive the letter so I might have to cancel it.

Appointment Letter: Flew to Juarez just to get this, its actually 2 letters you need.

Interview Day: Jan 2nd   Interview Result: APPROVED

Tracking Number Received: Via email notice and website the afternoon of Jan 4th    Visa Delivered: Friday Jan 5th Mexico City

USCIS Notice - Green Card mailed: 3/28/18

it's just frustrating that they don't have info about the process, at least not in a consistent way.

I'll have to take them once they ask for them unfortunately, since I still have over three months to go. thanks!
