This seems to be more and more common lately with the NVC. I wonder what the heck is going on? Its as if something has changed procedurely, as if they're somehow 'sending' them over differently or something. I'm not sure how else to explain such a delay - esp. one that seemed to come out of nowhere. It seems the group with NOA2s around 3/28 were the first ones experiencing such delays, which unfortunately seem to be continuing.

Very curious.

Could it be related to what's been happening in the delay at the USCIS with the worker visas? (I'm not sure if they go through the NVC 'tho.)

I just found this thread and crapped my pants with joy.

Our NOA2 was approved on 4-02. It'll be four weeks on Monday without a record in the automated system. I was planning to call them when they opened on Monday.

My worst fear - as in, keeping me away at night - is that they lost the petition. This actually wouldn't surprise me in the least, given my luck.

/cry

It is my understanding that the K1's never enter the NVC's automated system...so calling the phone #' and entering your information for status update will always get you a "we don't have a record of your petition" type response. I'm not there yet but I've read this on several threads, that you have to call and speak w/ a live person. Many have done this after waiting a while and were told that their petition was already on its way to their consulate. I can't tell from your post if you've spoken w/ a live person at NVC and got the response that they don't have your petition yet....but it looks like you haven't. Please call on Monday and try to speak w/ an operator. I'm hoping you have nothing to worry about and your petition is already on its way to your consulate.

Good luck!

I've talked to a live person. It's been 2 weeks and NOTHING! :(

I'm shooting for next Friday. Praying is more like it.

Notice how the only people experiencing NVC slowness are coming out of CSC? I didn't see anyone in this thread from VSC who had such a long wait from NOA2 to NVC.

I think we can likely say that the fault does not lie with NVC...!

I received a letter yesterday in the postal mail from NVC stating: "This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place".

It is dated 4-26-07

Has case #.

noa2 was 4-9-07

Yay that's what they told me too but it looks like it is a now taking about 3 to 4 weeks for the petitions to arrive at the NVC. And remember always talk to a live person at the NVC, they don't get them into the automated system because they generally only stay there for 2 to 3 days.

This is crazy! CSC used to not be this lax in forwarding approved petitions to the NVC. Just another thing for them to be slow about, I guess (while Vermont seems to have their s*** together). Can't say I'm very surprised.

Seriously - you wait 3 months (if you're lucky) for the NOA2, then have to add 4 more weeks to that because they can't get off their a$$es and send a damn package to the NVC?

Poor TimsDaisy!

but John&Diana - I know exactly how you feel! I get asked the same thing all the time too. At least I finally have an interview date, but still. Sometimes I want to say 'is it really your business?'

Thanks. I'm having a pity party in my head today - that's very clear.

And yeah, I get mad at people for not seeming to care AND for asking questions. No one should ask at this point - they should know that they'll hear once we find out about all the major steps. Even if they are trying to be supportive, for me, it would be more supportive to say "let's get a drink" or "how about a movie," than "what's going on? is it delayed? what happens next? when will you hear?"
