If you dont mind me asking.. how much faster is the expedited process?

I have a Job offer, but I dint know about this possibility... Im still waiting for NOA2 of my K1, but this info would be helpful

It depends. Sometimes people get a reply within a week and then the work authorization soon after.

If you still are waiting for the NOA2 then you still have a ways to go. Even after you receive the K1 and enter the US, you can't file for employment authorization until after you are married. This will likely be several months from now. You should ensure that the employer is willing to wait that long.

Just to note, this is where the spousal visa would have been better.

Thanks for the prompt reply!

Yeah I know I still have a long journey ahead of me.. Which is why I'm gathering all the info I need so I can discuss possible start dates with my future employer

We chose K1 because we understood it would be the option that would bring us together faster.. Work is secondary for me right now, though it would be good not to loose this job offer :D

So you told your potential employer it will be at least next spring before you can work for them and that's cool for them?

So far yes, they are cool with that B-) I worked with them while I was on my J1 last year, so we know each others workflow... But of course there is always the chance that they might change their mind... (many things can happen in the meantime)

Knowing that they could expedite the EAD would definitely keep them interested.. I will look more into that option and wait until I get NOA2 to mention this to them so I can have a more realistic answer
