Hi all,

I have 2 question about the processing times.

1. My understanding from the USCIS Processing times chart is that they are currently taking around 105 days to process I-129F petitions. It looks like 105 days has been about the same for the past three updates to the USCIS charts. So, I should be able to expect my NOA2 towards the end of July, given my NOA1 date of April 13 at CSC. Is this the correct assumption? If not, could someone please explain how to properly read those charts?

2. Based on VisaJourney estimates, this same time frame also looks to be true. Several days ago, I saw that under the Current Processing Times chart, VisaJourney showed that petitions with NOA1 dates of April 2 were currently being processed at CSC; however that date has moved back several days to March 30 now.

Does anyone know how VisaJouney Calculate these dates and why it would have moved backwards?

Not sure of the exact logarithmic formula, but it's some kind of average result. Right now I think it went up again and it's around 109 days.

That estimated timeline is based only on what people here, on VJ, reports. Since lately there hasn't been a lot of people getting NOA2'S, and those were from February a lot, the average time went higher.

So... hard to understand and explain, but simple answer, average result that depends on people updating accurately.

Also keep in mind NOA2 is coming in the mail now, since the tracker rarely updates, so it takes longer to get the news and update the info. Plus, you know, 4th of July made things slow for a bit.

Come join the April filers forum! We are all looking forward to start getting good news :)

i wouldn't read too much into it ... our estimate is way past due date, already on 126 days and waiting. who knows what is happening in that USCIS service centre. Makes no sense, seems very random !

Visajourney timelines is just an overall estimate based on members timelines. I personally wouldn't hold on too much on timelines since every case is different. Always keep in mind that the overall processing time for I-129F petitions is five months -- any longer than that is considered outside normal processing times. There are things that can slow it down like background check that is taking longer than average or a not so fast adjudicator.

Like I always say; Expect five, be happy with three.

01/13/2016: I-129F filed  07/15/2016: K-1 visa in hand
10/13/2016: Filed AOS + EAD/AP.   07/07/2017: Permanent resident (Conditional)
04/16/2019: Filed ROC  11/17/2020: Approved. (10 yr GC)

10/22/2020: Biometrics Reuse Notice.  12/22/2020: Online Status Changed to Interview Was Scheduled.
01/29/2021: N-400 Interview - PASSED! 01/29/2021: Same-day oath ceremony.

ah, i was wondering what they considered as normal times. So we should be able to inquire after 5 months. we are just over the 4 months mark now (NOA1 3/16), so next month this time we will able to ask some questions if we have not received anything yet. at this rate, I think we will reach that 5 month mark

Correct. You should be able to put in a service request after five months. It's nothing much though. It'll just notify them the petitioner/beneficiary marked the receipt number given as outside normal processing times and they will give you one of the standard e-mail responses applicable for your inquiry.

Hey there,

I was wondering the same. Our NOA1 is April 24 and I keep updating the VJ website but CSC seems to not move at all which is very frustrating. However, I hope that we will all get our NOA2 in August. ;) The timeline used to say 105 days to process but now it's apparently 122 days... Who knows.

Good luck to us all! :)
