Embassy not granting interview

Has there ever been a case where the beneficiary has not been granted an interview at the US embassy in the foreign country he legally resides/works in? If so, why has that been the case? Do some embassies reserve the right to ONLY schedule interviews for citizens of that specific foreign country?

Not that I've heard of, but I'm fairly new to this forum too. What country / embassy?

The embassy that you use is the embassy in the country you reside in (not necessarily a citizen of). It should be noted though that not all embassies process K-1 visas, and in that case it would be processed at a different embassy that was chosen to take those applications, in another country.

I have never heard of an individual being denied because they were not a citizen as long as they have permanent residence and can prove so.

The embassy is the one in La Paz, Bolivia. I just checked their website and they process K1 visas. We will submit a copy of my fiance's work visa and ID card in Bolivia for good measure.

Did they actually refuse you or you just suspect they might?

Suspect they might. Not because they have a reason to. Our case is super transparent. But always gotta prepare for the worst, you know what I mean? Maybe Bolivia is super weird where they will only grant interviews for their own citizens and no one else.

Doubt it.
