You need to wait for the Packet 3 from the embassy or you can e-mail them to ask for it. After receiving the Packet 3, read through the entire instructions sheet. Thereafter:

1) Complete and submit the DS-160 online and save the confirmation page.

2) Pay the visa fee and save the receipt.

****

3) Schedule the interview and save the confirmation page.

4) E-mail the embassy the DS-160 confirmation page and interview appointment confirmation page.

5) Your medical appointment date should be 2 weeks before the interview date because that's the amount of time they need to have your medical report ready.

**** In terms of gathering all required documents to be hand carried to the interview, it's best that you gather them BEFORE scheduling your interview and medical. The certificate of good conduct from KLN takes a couple of weeks if not more. You don't wanna have an interview date and then you don't have enough time to collect the required documents. Paying the visa fee in advance is not an issue as it has a 1-year validity.

Ps: I'm speaking as someone who's going through the same embassy as you.

hi, its so nice of you😘 &its so helpful to me,but i still have doubt because i has read from other blogger who been through process the k-1visa said we(beneficiary) wont receiving any packet 3  from our kl us embassy anymore?(they appointment on 2016-2017?!)!its weird because it's so many  different way to get these message right... but people who been through all these thing(applied k1visa ) said yes we gotta wait our packet but uts already couple years ago ... whats the right decision for me i still wonder&struggled?!😂 😂 😂

by the way does u ever  brought some vaccination record that we used to had when we was little(since we was born as a baby we used to have loads of vaccination then until end of year of the primary school) ?i had missed one vaccination was called" rubella""when i was study secondary school abt form 3or4... should i do it now before my healthscreen or i will fail the healthscreen report?what else vaccination i should have before i go having my healthscreen? the healthscreen report will directly sending to kl us embassy right?or i have to go there again to get it by myself then bring it to embassy ?how long the time  does it (healthscreen)take?can i just bring the photobook that me &my fiance as evidence that prove our relationship...?

how do i pay the visa fee?how about yours?can i just go those  bank that embassy keep co-operate with like  (maybank) or (public bank) i got the information from here said using"jom pay"?or somewhere else i can make the payment (but i prefer not using bank acc ount transfer through my mobilephone)

sorry if i sound so complicated or hard to understand😓 😓 😓 because im so anxiety and i wish i can complete all these thing asap because its so long way to go ...(yet working and apply several day off to do different document work because they only have office hour working )

thanks again xoxo😊 😊 😊

Ps:sorry i cant speak fluent english yet i wonder did they ever have chinese  language officer so i can express my case/my situation  in better way...🤔no matter what ,i know i will try my best^^

1) Yes, you'll receive Packet 3 but it's just a PDF file via e-mail. No papercopy so you don't need to keep checking your mailbox. Again, no Packet 4 for Malaysia.

2) I called the clinic before. They said it's ok if we do not have a vaccination record. The doctor will talk to you and try figure it out and give you the age appropriate vaccinations. The doctor will tell you that K-1 applicants don't need the vaccinations now and can do it in the US. my thoughts for you is to get it done during your K-1 medical because it's cheaper than getting them in the US for the AOS. You'll need to collect the medical report from the clinic and carry it to the embassy yourself. The checkup should be less than one hour.

3) Photobook alone is not enough to prove your relationship. Bring some call logs, phone bills, e-mails, FB screenshot printouts, greeting cards, engagement ring receipt (if you guys already bought a ring but if not, it's ok), flight boarding passes from your trip to visit him or holiday together etc.

4) Here's the payment details page: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/my/my-niv-paymentinfo.asp. I used online transfer. It's very convenient. If you wanna pay cash, you can do it at AmBank. However, go through the link to understand it before going to the bank unprepared.

Not sure about the translator. Never had to look into it. And I'm replying from my phone so it's difficult for me to look each page one by one. You can either Google or call the embassy to ask.

What I mean was, your fiance can forward you a copy of the e-mail that he received so you know what was being sent to him and you can keep yourself informed. And you can also forward him a copy of whatever e-mail that you get back from the embassy for his info.

I am still in Malaysia. Never lived in Atlanta, only visited 2 weeks each time. My interview is next month.

They sent it to your fiance? That's weird. Did they actually state a specific interview date in that letter?

Either way, you should email the embassy at KLIV@state.gov and ask about the Packet 3. When emailing them, provide them with the NVC case number, your fiance's name + date of birth as well as your name + date of birth. For starters, you'll get an automated e-mail back. Give it a day or two and a real person from the consular section will respond to your e-mail. They'll also probably send you the Packet 3 in the same e-mail (it's a PDF file).

Did you apply for the certificate of good conduct from the Malaysian Foreign Ministry? Did you get your birth certificate translated too? Those take a bit of time so better start applying.

Can you describe what exactly your fiance received??

Packet 3 is just called a packet but it's not a physical packet that arrives at your home mailbox. It's a soft copy file that's sent to your e-mail. Even if the embassy doesn't have your e-mail address now, if you send them an e-mail, they will have your e-mail then to respond to your enquiry and forward you the Packet 3.

You can apply for the Certificate of Good Conduct at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my/en/. Create a user account before you could proceed to the certificate application page.

Get your birth certificate translated by ITBM. You can contact aznie@itbm.com.my and tell her you want your birth certificate translated. She will ask for a scan of the document and tell you the price. You'll need to get more than one copy because you'll need them at other stages when you're already in the US.

The certificate of good conduct and birth certificate translation can be done before receiving your Packet 3.

As for the medical, you'll need to have scheduled your interview appointment first then only you make the medical appointment. Obviously you cannot proceed with making an interview appointment if you didn't hear from the embassy.

Again as per my last comment, e-mail the embassy at KLIV@state.gov and provide the following details:

NVC case number (this number starts with KLL)

Your US petitioner's full name

Your US petitioner's date of birth

Your full name

Your date of birth

Then ask them if they have received your case file and if they could e-mail you the Packet 3 so that you can proceed to prepare for the interview.

Although your fiance is busy with his twins, you two need to communicate and he needs to be assisting you. You're also responsible to research around and take actions.

And when he said he doesn't know how to go through with this thing, is he actually referring to the visa application process or is he trying to break up with you? He can't just wash his hands and leave you struggling with this process alone.

OK, good to hear it's just his personality :) If you and your fiance start gathering all the documents now, you'll be able to get them done quickly.
