Um no. it has not. I am "in that part of the world" every year, in fact I am leaving for Jordan next week, I'll be there for 6 weeks. Please please PLEASE do not tell me what that part of the world is like, you haven't a clue unless you've been there. My God, people need to stop reading fake news.

I didn't say THAT world I said THIS world. And I don't have to go there for anything. And I don't think what has happened in Brussels, Paris, London, Stockholm etc is fake news. The world has changed and MEANS countries are harder and that's a fact.

People need to stop saying "my God, people need to stop read fake news" as soon as someone has another opinion. Grow up.

If you want to discuss fake news, there's a separate forum for that.

And to elaborate on my opinion before someone else gets the wrong idea.

Do I think the disability will be a factor: No

Do I think the age gap will be a factor: Maybe, depends on the CO and what is culturally the norm in Egypt.

Do I think the religious difference will be a factor: see above.

Both the religious factor and the age gap has been issues for other members on this forum from MENA countries but for some people it has not.

You are 100% wrong. Ask me how I know? I'm disabled and 21 years older than my husband. He's Muslim, I'm Catholic and divorced with 2 adult children. We married the first time I visited him. My husband is now a US citizen and we've been happily married for 6 years. My husband didn't have one single problem getting his visa, or his citizenship. We did the process on our own and never had as much as an RFE from the day we sent his I-130 up to and including the day his took his oath.  Why are people in this thread discouraging the OP? Your opinion is exactly that, an opinion. Instead of passing judgement perhaps do a little research and post facts.

If you were Muslim and he was Christian would it not be different?

Would you see it as a red flag if the man was older and disabled, or would you be high fiving him for for scoring a younger woman?

I'm 21 years older than my husband and disabled. My husband had no problem getting his visa, we've been happily married for almost 6 years and he's now a citizen. I was not on welfare of any sort, but that isn't reason for a visa to be denied, they can get a joint sponsor. Many people on this site told me as soon as my husband received his 10 year green card he'd be gone. Then they told me as soon as he became a citizen he'd be gone. No one scoffs when a man is 20 years older than his wife/significant other, but when the tables are turned people act as though it's a mortal sin and accuse the woman of being "a cradle robber" or a "pervert". I'm so over those generalizations on this site.

A visa cannot be denied based on age, religion, gender or social status. We have a vetting process and no matter the relationship the must prove they have a bonafide relationship. That is the biggest hurdle to overcome.

I'm not going to get into a argument but there's lots of red flags with this case i was not harassing the op but stating these can be red flags and cause a denial.

I am the foreign spouse and also 10+ years older than my US spouse.  I am agnostic, he is Catholic. Not a single question was raised at our interview, guess why? We lived 7 years together in Hong Kong before making the move.

Sure I believe in true love despite the age differences. So if OP loves his US spouse, willing to work to support her, then, by all means, the US citizen spouse could move to Egypt. I mean, after all, it is not where but love which matters, isn't it?

I agree with all of this. Age gap and religious differences are certainly red flags. However, just because there are red flags in the relationship, it doesn't mean an automatic denial. Expect the interview to be tough and you must be able to address these red flags if brought up by the CO.

Another major red flag I would add is getting married during your first meeting, while also having known each other for under 1 year. Again, not impossible to overcome, but certainly difficult.

It sounds like you are set on getting married while she is with you now, but I strongly suggest that she come visit you again before your interview if she can. In person face time together is one of, if not the best way to prove a genuine relationship. Make sure that she meets your family, and take lots of photos together. My fiance is also from a MENA country and while my case is a lot different from yours, I know that my multiple visits to his country is what made his interview so much easier.

OMG STOP!!!! My husband is Muslim and I'm Catholic. Muslims can marry Christians. Period. Why are you trying to scare the the OP? You really need to get your facts straight, read my first post to you.

I completely agree with you and all the things that you said before. From the beginning it looked to me like every people replying to this post wanted to convince him to just forget about her and move on, that this man could not be in love with her because she is disabled and older than him...DISGUSTING!!! Nobody sound worried about what the immigration might think, to me it look like that's what THEY think! It's prejudice from the core.

It's just sad that people actually think that love should fit in a "box" created by themselves.

Peace!

Too many red flags at this time.

If there is true love , why does she not stay in Egypt with you for a year or 2 before starting the visa process?
