My mom just got her immigrant visa. Its her 1st time to travel as immigrant. I filed the petition here in Atlanta, Georgia but she is planning to visit first her siblings in San Francisco, California and will stay there for a month and after that, she will travel here in Atlanta, Georgia. Will she encounter problems in SF port of entry since the petition was filed here in Atlanta, Gerogia? Should she go first here in Atlanta port of entry to submit her yellow packet from US embassy and have the immigrantion stamp?

Now If its ok for her to travel in SF, how can she receive her green card? I believe once an immigrant arrived in the US, they will just mail it. But in her case, she arrived in different port of entry.

Please help me guys. Replies would be appreciated so much. Thank you

She can enter the US anywhere she likes.

I'm assuming they will send the greencard to the address she used on the visa application.

Hi scandì! Thank you for your reply, I feel at ease now knowing she can go to SF first.

Oh by the way, how will atlanta immigration send her green card if she'll exit in SF, are they centralized? I mean, can Atlanta immigration track her arrival here in the US by different port of entry? Thanks again!

It has nothing to do with Atlanta. The package she hands over to CBP at the airport will be sent to USCIS, thereafter they will produce her card and send it to the address she wrote down on her visa application.
