DS3032/choice of agent

hi guyz!

this is my problem...I am about to email the NVC regarding my choice of agent...

I want to make my USC hubby my agent but the problem is he is presently on a military cruise and will be away for 5-6 months.

My mother-in-law lives with my hubby in US, can I still make my husband the agent but actually let my mother-in-law take care and receive all the bills, forms/packages that NVC will soon send, since he is presently out of the country? Our plan is that, when I-864 package arrives, my mother in-law will send it to my hubby and then he will complete the package and send it back to his mom right away and then mom will send the package to NVC. My hubby acquired a power of atty before he left, just in case it would be needed. Will that be ok? Will there be no future problems with that? Will NVC allow that set up? Making my USC hubby the choice of agent but actually letting my mother-in-law take care of everything(basically receiving bill and packages and sending everything back to NVC)???Do I have to inform NVC regarding that matter or will NVC not mind?

u can choose ur MIL as ur choice of agent instead...

have ur hubby prepare the affidavit of support and the required docs as early as now and send it to ur MIL

and also on ur part, prepare the DS-230 and the required docs and send it to ur MIL

so when time comes that ur Agent has to send it, she can send it right away

Can my MIL be my agent of choice?

I thought it can only be among the USC spouse, an attorney(if u are using one) and myself?

can't I jst make my USC hubby the agent???

ur agent can be ur petitioner, another relative, a friend, an attorney, or a charitable organization such as church or other immigrant assistance organization.

that's indicated on the actual letter(DS-3032) I received from NVC.

u can choose ur MIL as ur choice of agent instead...

have ur hubby prepare the affidavit of support and the required docs as early as now and send it to ur MIL

and also on ur part, prepare the DS-230 and the required docs and send it to ur MIL

so when time comes that ur Agent has to send it, she can send it right away

regarding the AOS, we really want to do that, preparing the package as early as possible so that my hubby can send it now to my MIL, but our concern is the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data that my hubby has to sign which is included in the AOS package. Do u think he can download and print it and just delete the barcode and then when the orgininal form arrives, my MIL will jst cut it off (barcode ) and paste it to the one my hubby previously downloaded and printed?Do u think it's ok for us to do that?

did he filed his 2006 Tax? only a copy of his 1040, w-2, his recent paystub and proof of citizenship will be needed...

This is why the paperwork gets so chop-suey, especially when your husband is on military deployment. The federal tax data is required from NVC. Have your mom-in-law send it to him. It's better to be patient than to get an RFE.

No prob make her the agent, it's no big legal thing.

And the sending agant form by email trick (learned here) works great, BTW....
