Hi Everyone,

Noa1 March 7

Noa2 June 16

NVC received July 3

NVC in transit July 11

NVC Ready July 13

Our case status recently changed from in transit to ready on the NVC website.

I have not yet received any paperwork from NVC showing the case number. I do have the case number from NVC which I got last week.

I would like to go ahead and schedule medical and the interview already.

I've searched old tread and most say you do not need a letter from NVC. Only the confirmation page from when you schedule your interview.

I just want to know if that's true.

I want to make sure everything will be ok with my fiance when she goes to St Lukes.

I'm extra worried because she is currently pregnant and will have a difficult time running around if they refuse to let her take the medical exam.

Thanks in advance for your responses guys!

Your wasting available time. By now she could have scheduled the interview and completed the medical. Yes only the confirmation from scheduling is all you need.

Medical link.

I gave you the wrong link to the K1 Embassy letter is here https://ph.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2016/08/K1-and-K2-Applicant-Interview-Preparation-Instructions-08112016-English-336KB.pdf

Also, a member by the name of Hank has a great website that you should follow.  It gives you all the links to appointments, paperwork and documents needed to get a K1 visa.  He has been here for more than 10 years helping thousands of people navigate the process.

@Greenbaum  Thank you so much for the information, I really appreciate it!

I'm pretty upset at my attorney for wasting time on this one.

If the NVC status shows "Ready", does that mean it is already at the US embassy in the Philippines?

Yes, it should already be at the USEM so don't worry. Go ahead and get the ball rolling so your wife can be here for the birth and y'all get her on your insurance or her own.

That's why we would never recommend a lawyer as most don't have a clue and in the end you do most of the work.  But having said that, jump on this NOW as I have given you everything you need to do. Yes, Ready means ready! Get moving as I am sure you want her there so the two of you can be together for the birth.

Please return and ask any question. Skip the lawyer. Chaulk it up to "I didn't know" and don't look back. Many of us here will be glad to help.

With the K-1 no issue moving forward once you have your MNL#.   Don't need the NVC letter, you can use the interview confirmation page once that is scheduled.

:time:

Pregnancy is not a problem for taking the medical.

@Greenbaum Thanks again ! I ended up firing my attorney today. I think I'm at a stage where everything is simple enough and I can definitely handle it on my own.

Anyone have any idea on whether or not the eligibility letter from the embassy is necessary for the interview?

No, not needed.   Only need the interview confirmation from scheduling the interview.

No the letter is not needed.

I am glad that you were able to arrive at a decision that you believe will work with your situation. I think that there are too many Lawyers out there that all they use is the "Lawyer" title to make their advocacy for helping people get a visa. With the title of lawyer attached many will think that they can't do something because this lawyer can do it for me and I can be assured that he/she will do me right because they are a "lawyer".  That's further from the truth. Of course, there are some immigration help firms out there that probably do a fantastic job for their client but most don't. Hank and I both have website that walk you step by step through the entire immigration K1 process at USEM. We have been able to trace lawyers back to their websites who are using our information for whatever means.

YES! you can do this.

I totally agree with you doing this. The only reason I had a attorney for my wife's K1 visa was because I was working in Afghanistan, but once she came here I did the AOS and ROC by myself and this website. So this is a good decision for y'all.
