I'm going to venture a guess that NYC is probably one (if not the) busiest offices when it comes to immigration filing....I've seen some people here say it was an average of 9-12 months, and I've seen some say it's been more than a year and they are still waiting.

Did you file online, or by mail?

You can follow the timelines and compare your timeline with other NYC filers.

On an average it takes 6 months to be called for an interview from the date of filing of N400. It can take less time in rare instances but is not the norm when it comes to NYC field office.

Overall process took a little less than 8 months with interview at 5 months. Final approval came 2 months after interview and ceremony was a month after that. Alert some of your neighbors that you are waiting for some important mail, and get friendly with your postman. Of all things USPS put my naturalization interview letter in my neighbor's mailbox.

Filed online May 15th 2018. I-751 still pending after 1 year. Received Biometrics three days later.

Let the wait being. They will have to adjudicate the I-751 first I imagine with spouse, then the regular interview.

PS When do you decide to start studying for the Citizenship Test and Civics? I am going to take classes too.
