I didn't think life insurance paid for suicides, and if he actually left a note saying as much, I imagine there will be no payout.

That is what I thought. The whole "Suicide to give my family life insurance" seems like something that is just spread around in movies/television. Sad to think that some people actually think it works.

If he actually thought that would work, that is beyond insane. At least make it look good - get into an accident or something that way they would at least get "accidental death"(maybe fall off a cliff and DON'T leave a note?). Also, his life insurance was expiring? Why would it be expiring and why not renew it? Unless it was for a very short time period(there's your first mistake) of less than 15 years and by the time it was getting close to expiring he couldn't renew due to his condition? It's all just WEIRD!

That is why suicide makes no sense. Pretty obvious Hillary had him killed

Under certain policies, it is permissible. We have a client who is the beneficiary of a policy which paid out when the policyholder committed suicide many years after entering into the insurance agreement. I stress that this is not the general rule.
