We filled out the DS-160 last night, and I can't seem to find if we pay the visa cost first or make the appointments. Instead of giving answers, I got, call the Embassy. Well, I have called all morning and the line is busy. Can anyone that has done this, give em this very basic information? It's kind of like asking a question, and people say, "google is your friend". Why have these forums if you can't ask anything and everything. I did look online, and didn't find an answer. Please help!

On the US Embassy & Consulates in Mexico page under the "Complete petitions and other documentation" heading....it says you can pay cash at the Banamex or Scotia Bank....plus a couple of other payment options.

(I searched for a long time for how to pay for the DS 160 in Algiers)

But I am still new to this process and you may want to wait until a more experienced member responds.....

I have that information. And I have the links to pay by credit card, which is the option I want to do. But I don't know how long once has to wait after doing the DS-160 to proceed with anything. No know what comes first the payment or the medical/interview appointments?

I'm all ready to go, and have links, just need someone to say you do "this" so many hours/days following the submission of the DS-160. And then do "that" so many hours/days following the "this".

thank you for the response :)

Hola tab0712.  When we filled in and completed our DS-260 online [this' for a spousal CR-1 Immigration Visa], you will pay the fee via a credit card or cash either the MXN equivalent in USD at the time of your scheduled interview at the US Consulate, Ciudad Juarez. I'm almost certain that's how it's handled and facilitated in Mexico. I am certain if that's not the way it's handled you will recieve an email with instructions.  If you have not already registered on this website, do so now = https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do. Likewise here's a web link to the USCIS 'Immigration fees' information page. Also register on the Mexican Immigration Visa appointment scheduling website =  https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv, and monitor it daily for appointment scheduling availability once you've received your confirmation that your DS-160 has been filed and accepted.  Buen suerte.

Hi

Don't worry,  I had the same issues regarding those last parts in the process.  I am gonna assume your case is at the embassy and you got the packet 3/invite letter in hand or that you're flying to Juárez to get it printed out there,  your DS-160 has no expiration date,  once you've electronically signed it you're good to go to the payment site and do it, only after they have received your payment they will let you schedule your appointments (biometrics and interview),  then you're good to schedule the medical in any of the official clinics, you need to get all your paperwork ready while you wait for the interview,  it takes around one month to have an open date in the embassy,  so I'd suggest to pay ASAP and schedule your appointment.

Best of luck, feel free to message me if you have more questions about the process

Thank you! All went well. Did everything on friday, and our appointments in Juarez are on August 28, 29 and 30th!!!! Now, the cost of the flights there have broke the bank. Domestic travel in this damn country is disgusting....It cost me $800usd for two people and that is with a 10 hr layover in CDMX. Reason 836794586739457349 I need to leave Mexico.
