I mailed out my AOS packet on 7/5 through USPS. My tracking number showed it arrived at Chicago lockbox on 7/9. I have not yet received the text or email from USCIS to say they have received it. Is that normal? I've seen many timelines which show they received the text within a couple days. It's already been Monday - Friday and nothing yet. Has it taken a while for anyone else?

It is normal, with the backlog of cases at the Chicago lockbox, you will have to give it time. The journey for AOS is not always smooth as some might have it fast and some wait for months. As long as you have everything you need. Your EAD/AP combo card should be your primary focus, which you will be getting in around 90-120 days.

Good luck

I am in the same boat as you, I sent on July 5, received on July 7, my expectation is within 3 weeks to receive it

As long as you have the delivery confirmation showing it was sent and received then that's a good thiing.

Has the check been cashed yet?  If so, that's another good sign.

I sent money orders.

Mine was delivered 7/12 to the Chicago Lockbox and I sent money orders as well. It CAN take up to a month, but under a week seems to be the norm right now.

I'm sure we'll get our emails/texts by the end of next week, don't worry about it. I'll let you know when I get my NOA1 :)

Was a stressful journey full of ups and downs, cya in 2020 VJ. I'll be back when it's time to begin the dreaded I-751. Biggest advice - make sure you have a TON of evidence, be completely honest and you'll be fine. Good luck everyone! =)
