This is really pathetic...good luck and pls keep me posted if you get any infos/approved

Hey! I don't know if you're still around, but for you and anybody who's interested I'm going to put together a timeline of how my case was resolved.

So, like we spoke at the time, I waited for my case to pass normal processing times. On May 22nd, CSC processing time finally showed June 1st, my priority date. The next day I went straight to my congressman office asking for assistance. I had to fill in a form authorizing them to request information from USCIS. It was late in the day, so they told me they will put in the request the next day. And they did - on May 24th they informed me they had placed an inquiry with USCIS.

Four days later I got another email from my congressman. USCIS informed them that my case was pending review and I should receive a notice of action within 45-60 days.

On June 11, I got a genetic email from USCIS stating they are still reviewing my case and there's no updates at this time.

Today, June 13th, I got an email that my case has been approved.

It took 24.5 months in total for my case to be processed. And only 2.5 weeks since I involved my congressman.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with my case. No background checks pending. And by what they said in their email - it was pending review.. I think they just didn't even look at it. Untill 3 weeks ago. 😑🙄🤨

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you on your approval, this process is not easy at all, endurance is the KEY. My PD is June 2, 2017 and I look forward to do the same thing(contact my congressman) as I am still waiting for USCIS approval whereas the processing time as per the website says, they are processing files for PD..June 09, 2017 .

Thank you :) I would advice you to take action ASAP. If you can't go to your congressman today, don't wait. Place an inquiry over the phone yourself. The inquiry will ping your case in their system and draw attention. Good luck and keep me posted!

Hello All.

We recently file i130 and our file was transferred to CSC.

1. What will happen to our file if the US LPR becomes a US citizen?

2. If i, the beneficiary change country; like i changed to a new place which is not the consulate we wrote on the petition. Could this affect us in anyway?

Hello my countryman,

Answer Q1. Nowadays the average wait time for the CR1 visa process until you get your visa in hand is almost two(2) and half years or even more but if your petitioner becomes a US Citizen, your case will upgrade from CR1 to IR1(Immediate Relative). Visas in this category are unlimited and your case will move a little faster than the CR1.

Answer Q2. Change of location does not affect your petition in anyway, you can attain your interview anywhere you are located regardless of what you wrote on your i130 petition form. You just need to have legal status in that area and call USCIS or NVC after you receive approval(NOA2) that you location changed so that they can forward your documents to the country of which you are at.

So visa bulletin is current for July 2019,  does that help my I130 to approve faster. I have applied for my spouse who is abroad under F2A category and my PD is on 2019. What are the chances of the process getting faster. Any one share your thoughts please! For consular processing abroad I believe I130 has to be approved, mine is pending in California. What is the next step I can take if any?

I have a good news. In another forum girls shared a picture from uscis that their cases have transferred from California to another service center. But it's concerns only PD 2017.

In my opinion this process will extend to PD 2018-2019. I hope so...

I just talked to nvc on phone and they said it happened because of Delhi location is close so all the cases are transferred to Mumbai office so it’s backlog and they don’t know when it will clear it can take upto several months.

But why did they shut down Delhi Embassy??

Anyway, looking at this response the waiting times for F2A for India is more than 2.5 or 3 years now??

so it’s backlog and they don’t know when it will clear it can take upto several months.

This "Several" scares me now, how long?? Did he/she gave any ballpark figure? 3, 4 or 6 months??

Unnecessarily, Legal Immigrants' family members are getting screwed up in this process.

Crappy H1Bs and their spouses are coming like in great numbers here ... nobody is stopping them from India. We followed the right and legal approach and suffering unnecessarily, where students are enjoying OPT/CPT joke to get the jobs away and they are bringing their spouses as well. On top of that they all need EADs to work and get it too .... I seriously support trump's "Buy-American Hire American" ideology but why LPR spouses/children are needed to wait for that long?? ... Non-sense. They need to give preference to F2A over all other NON-IMMIGRANT applicants (Tourist, Student, Entertainment, H1B etc.)

They don't even issue tourist visa to LPR spouses due to lack of strong ties to home country ... what kinda stupid rule is this?? no alternative relief for us, waiting times for Mumbai Consulate for all other non-immigrant visas like tourist, student, H1b, H4 and other ####### is only 50-60 days ...

😡🤬

I agree, The spouses of PR suffer more than spouses of any category when it comes to waiting to be re United. Unfortunately being legal immigrant greencard  holders doesn’t have As much rights while it comes to bringing their family compared to non immigrant families. Sad 😢 they shouldn’t have to go through the trauma of family separation as it takes forever to be united not fair for the permanent residents. I hope the future applicant doesn’t have to go through what others are going right now. Family separation is the worst thing anyone could ever imagine.
