How long did it take the process from USCIS approval to NVC with case number

I just got the welcome letter this morning, so for me it's 3.5 months.

I am still thinking if I should go consular processing or AOS since now they send me the WL and I am weighing which path fits me better. So question to VJs: Can I simply ignore what NVC sent to me if I decide to do AOS?

Hey, I kinda lost track of your case but I'm glad to hear your work visa was approved ^^.

If you decide to do AOS, you need to notify nvc of your decision when you arrive in the US. Then they will send your file back to USCIS because USCIS deals with AOS. It might take quite some time.

You have to decide what is better for you - spend more money and/or time for AOS. Or take a few days off and pay you flight to your home country to attend an interview.

Certainly check your local field office processing time before deciding.

Thx for your comments.

For now I am prone to do AOS, for sure the sacrifice is time but the certainty is being together with my family without interruption. Consular processing is way more complicated to me since I am not staying in my home country or the States for quite a time, which means it involves a third country and any history records herein and any of those in my home country that I have also to collet them all remotely. Thinking about this makes me nervous, especially obtaining the police certificate in my home country under someone else's help is full of inconvenience and bureaucracy as I see it. That said, I did order my police certificate in person more than one year ago (13 months) in my home country back to the time when I was there for a conference workshop. But I don't know if that certificate is still good to use since I left the country after the workshop and never return again (I would if I have to attend the consular interview LOL).

Guys need some information.

My spouse will most likely be traveling to the UK for work purposes and as a result she might be having her post i130 processes in UK.

1) How does NVC assign the embassy to which the immigrant visa takes place?

2) will we be able to choose UK embassy as the interview location during the NVC process?
