Hello

My husband and I just got our green cards and we are in the U.S. We want to apply for our 12 year old son who is here in the U.S. with us on a student visa. Can someone plz explain what all I  need to  do.  I will file the application as I am the mother.  How much is the fees? What documents do I need to submit. And the i130 form has expiry of 7/31/2018. Is that ok our is  there a new form?

All I can really answer is if they don't have an updated form I'd use the one on the website, as I've seen others who have done that. Hello, I just wanted to update you all. Got the I-130 approval letter yesterday. PD March 9, 2017. It says they will send the case to NVC. Does anybody know what the next step is and how long it will take?

Congrats! Music to my ears! 

 

According to their site, it takes about 6 - 8 weeks after that but it may be more as we have seen firsthand.

Hello 

 

We got the approval letter today, our priority date was March 7 2017.

 

I was concerned about the next steps. The letter says "the petition indicates that the husband or wife is in the United States and wishes to apply for adjustment of status".

 

However, since my spouses F1 Visa expired he had to leave the US in September 2017. 

 

The letter also says "if the beneficiary decides to apply for an immigrant Visa outside the United States based on this petition once the priority date is current and the Visa is available, the petitioner should file I824 to request to send the petition to the NVC".

 

Did we do something in our I130 filing. It seems like our case will not move to NVC automatically. What is the earliest we could file from I824?

Mine was approved july 23, i called nvc yesterday and they gave me case number and invoice ... You should try to call them. Goodluck .
