Not exactly the same thing. As long as your house isn't burning down, you don't have any other related expenses. As long as you aren't in an accident, it's not like your insurance covers the maintenance you do to your car. Healthcare works vastly different. Because of the extremely high cost of care, insurance companies are the ones paying for most of it. Most people can't afford to pay thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands if not millions to get the care they need without insurance. So you can't compare premiums in one to premiums in the other. You can't make someone pay ALOT more money for things they have to do for their health. You can make someone pay more money when as long as they don't get into an accident there's nothing else they need to do.

But you expect it to cover maintenance to your body?

It already does. It's just how it works. You wanna create plans that don't cover maintenance to your body where premiums are risk dependent that's fine. But right now that's not the case and practically everyone needs insurance even for just routine procedures and preventive.

Is that not the problem, you can buy maintenance cover, http://www.autocarenow.com/, most people do not because it is not logical to insure such risks.

You can buy extended warranty insurance, not logical either in most cases.

and how many times my oil has been changed won't make a lick of difference if (not inevitably when) my car is wrecked. but how often i've received preventative care and wellness visits might well determine my recovery when (not if) i fall ill.

Trumpcare 3.0 is dead, four Republican senators have now said they'll vote no with more expected soon.

Turtle will have to move across the aisle and give up on seven years of Repeal and Replace. What a huge embarrassment for Trump and his party.

Time to fix Obamacare!

60+ times voted to repeal and replace in seven years. Now hold all branches of government and they still can't get it done.

I find it somewhat shameful that for a country pretty advanced in most areas, the US is only 31st where life expectancy is concerned. Behind countries like Chile, Costa Rica, Cyrpus, Slovenia, Malta, South Korea...

Yes we have discussed before that some of it is habits but some of it also has to do with medical care or lack thereof.

Trump is now pushing for just repeal. This man has no shame. Looks like it isn't going anywhere, some senators have already come out and said No.

I've saved the Republicans time by coming up with a new slogan for them.

Retain and Repair Obamacare!

The so-called president is pushing for the repeal, because he has nothing to offer. You would think that during all these years, the GOP would have a replace/repeal proposal all buttoned up. More lies to their constituents.

I have a better motto, and one the entire country could rally behind:

SEVEN years to come up with a bill, their own bill, their bills were so bad they couldn't even pass them with a majority in government.

The whole celebration in the Rose Garden after the House passed it's bill is looking stupid. This one event will go down in history as Trump's legacy on his presidency.
