Acting Gov. Richard Codey and the state's security and transportation officials asked motorists to stay off the roads tonight due to heavy rain and flooding throughout the state.

Codey, Kolluri and State Police Superintendent Joseph "Rick" Fuentes said there are extra police and road crews deployed throughout the state to respond to any emergencies.

Fuentes said ''virtually every one of the major rivers in the state" will reach flood stage or worse with this storm.

We aren't in NJ but Virginia. Been raining for about 24 hrs. now so far. Rush River at the end of our driveway flooded out this afternoon. Not majorly but it did...and will probably get worse during the night. And trust me, it's a-rushin'!

My daughter's been off for Spring Break the past 10 days and if the river keeps going at the rate it is now, I can see her getting an extra day or two of vacation.

Turns out all the main arteries around my neighborhood are flooded, so this neighborhood is effectively boxed in on all sides by floodwaters... they're telling us they don't expect that to change till early Tuesday.

We could hear rain Saturday night; it was still heavy rain @ 8:30 am Sunday when we started for church (in DC), with much heavier pocket between Columbia and Laurel. Light in Bethesda and DC when we arrived @ 9:45, but picked up by when we left church for home @ 13:15 (and it was lighter around home when we arrived @ 14:15).

And there were flood warnings for Baltimore, Annapolis and DC regions of MD--as well as for DC-region of VA.

I'm allowed to do that sometimes.

Unfortunately, it can't be regular (I tried this for a Thursday-night Bible Study, and was told "to make other accomodations for it", which I did; in a month or so, we plan to move to Silver Spring which is at least a closer commute to Georgetown, so I won't need to continue the unsatisfactory "accomodation").
