I think we just provided 5 years' worth of addresses. She'd been here on an F-1 for longer than that anyway, so we just filled in that information.

Thanks very much for taking time to reply AK_2014 I appreciate it, and your insight.  I hope it won’t end up being a thing.

I filed today online, so we’ll see what happens.  Cheers!!

I e-filed back in early February without knowing anything about the bugs in the new ELIS computerized system - I was just researching the citizenship process and came across the page on the USCIS website where they have the link to see if you are eligible to file online. Like several other people have noted, the online application software can be glitchy (doesn't let you delete files/answers and sometimes throws out 500 HTML errors when pressing the 'submit' button when you have filled in a page of replies) but it does seem to record things properly. It also has a feature that allows you to create a PDF of the N-400 using the data you have entered, and I did this, highlighted any areas where I thought it may have got things wrong and took this along to my interview where any small issues were fixed.

Even the interview officer had some issues correcting the online information back in April when I attended my interview, so their computer system is still having issues worked out. He made an amendment which was incorrect and when he went to edit/delete it, he found he couldn't so he had to enter a duplicate entry!

I found the online notifications and copies of the correspondence to be very helpful. In my own case, I found that the process was very efficient and was a citizen within 68 days of applying online at one of the busier field offices here in Los Angeles.

That date is set by whichever local office your zip code comes under.

Dallas, where I filed, for example, shows 23 months. Everyone who applies through Dallas right now will show 23 months. The dates are not accurate.

This must be a new feature since when I applied online last February, this information was not available. I used the field office processing times as a guide - just go to the USCIS website and search for Processing Times. Then check your local field office - it will show which month they are processing different types of visa applications for.

Don't take the completed case estimation times to heart.  They are very glitchy as a new feature and tend to move back and forth as reported by many in these forums.

For example....On the day of my oath ceremony, it still showed 9 months to completion time, which of course was untrue.

Are you applied based 5y rules or 3y?

If 3y, have you received your 10y GC? Or your I-751 still pending?

Thank you, and I wish you all the best.

I-485 (AOS)

04/01/2015 Sent Form I-485.

05/06/2015 Scheduled the interview and mailed its notice.

06/16/2015 The Post Office picked up mail containing the new card.

06/16/2015 The 2 years Green Card was mailed to me.

06/18/2015 The 2 years Green Card in hand.

I-751 (ROC)

03/13/2017 Sent I-751 documents to CSC.

03/14/2017 Package received.

03/16/2017 Check cashed.

03/??/2017  NOA received.

03/14/2017 NOA dated.

03/27/2017 Biometrics. "walked-in"

02/26/2018 Case transferred to my local office.

05/01/2018 Case transferred to another office.

05/07/2018 Received letter in mail, my case was transferred to NBC. "Letter's date is 05/01/2018"

06/05/2018 Received letter in mail, they will do an interview at the same time, date and location of my N-400 interview. "06/21/2018"

06/21/2018 The combo interview (with N-400 interview). But it's still pending until they send me the result of this interview.

06/27/2018 The case was approved, with the N-400 approval.

06/30/2018 Received the approval letter in mail.

N-400 (Under 3 Years Rule)

04/27/2018 Biometrics.

05/14/2018 Scheduled the N-400 interview.

06/21/2018 Interview's date.

Passed the English test and the U.S. history and government test.

But: A decision cannot be made yet about my application. The reason is my pending I-751 file!

06/27/2018 The case was approved (with the I-751 approval), and placed me in line for oath ceremony.

I believe I am the first one brought efile to Vj, no issues encountered,no faster processing either.

I believe for reasons unknown applying on line is at times faster.  I was in contact here with a visajourney follower and she applied on line in August of 2017, my wife applied in March of 2017.  Now this person has already been scheduled for an interview for 1/18/18.  She too was a 3 year married to a U.S. citizen.  My wife is over 10 months now and still in limbo with In Line for Interview.  This person and my wife are both relying on the Seattle Field Office.  If this person applied on line 5 months after my wife applied on paper, then how many other people are USCIS skipping over.  Maybe it is less work for them to process on line.  They are no different than any other business or employer, they will take the easy way out first.    Just an opinion!!!

Hey everybody! I'm in the process of applying and I'd like to know how your application processes are going. Any updates? Was applying online "easier" than on paper? Also, when applying under the 3 year rule on paper, can I just include the last 3 years of info (addresses & employment)? I thought it was unusual you needed to provide 5 years but since you mentioned it, I figured I'd ask.
