I posted a question several days ago about the new I-485 (re: photos). And someone posted another question on the thread about what to fill in on "Receipt Number of Underlying Petition" questions

WEfEBmj.png

someone responded: "if you dont have any other petitions that you submitted before. Just leave it blank."

But I think the answer should be the number printed on my NOA2 / i797??? I have one that begin with 'WAC' followed by 10 digits number. Am I correct??

Can someone help???

Also in that same thread someone told me to file I-130 with my AOS.... Why am I filing I-130?? I came in with I-129F (K-1) and am now married to my petitioner. I-130 is petition for K3, am I right?

AM I GOING CRAZY????

HEEEELLLPPPPPP.......

Yes, you should use your NOA1 WAC number :)

And no, you do not need to file I-130 if you entered the US with a K-1.

Thank you. I cannot wait to be NOT AOS-ing anymore!!!! Have a nice weekend. and happy belated Raya (if you're celebrating but if that's not the case I hope you took advantage of the holiday by stuffing your family silly with Malaysian food). I LOVE KL, Malaka and Penang, they're heaven to me :)

Are you filing for EAD and AP at the same time? They are free if filed concurrently with the AOS :D

And thank you for the Raya wishes although I do not celebrate. It was a nice long weekend and I have been enjoying a lot of delicious Malay food. It's good to hear that you enjoyed your time in Malaysia. I have only ever been to Bali and it was a very pleasant place with friendly folks. Honestly, I will miss authentic Asian food so much once I move to the US :jest:

Yes, I'm filing AOS, EAD, and AP at the same time. This was more intense than doing my Master study research gaaahhhh....

Oh I also just notice that you're still in Malaysia and is going to have interview next month?? CONGRATS and GOOD LUCK. It'll be easy. Just do all of your homework and be confident when answering questions.

Regarding food, do not worry, there'll be asian market where you live ( I hope ). At least when you're in Southern California it's VERY easy to get asian food / groceries. I live in Pasadena and Lax-C (http://www.lax-c.com/) in Down Town LA (a GIANT asian supermarket ) is just 20 minute drive and you can stock up on almost ANY asian groceries / food products that you'll miss from home and also products that you'd probably never heard of... There's also another giant asian groceries in Rosemead but I forgot what its name, they even organize the groceries based on countries of origin, its a real OCD's heaven! :) Also in the summer China Town has night market. I went to 626 Night Market with my husband the other week. It was the most number of people I've ever seen in one place. It was also THE MOST organized night market I've ever been. and it was ridiculously clean...

Worst case scenario you just have to rely on Trader Joe's which I never really understand why people are crazy about it until I move here!!

Anyway, all the best.

I have gotten all my documents ready. Just waiting to go for the medical and the various signed and dated papers from my fiance before the interview. I am really nervous but I hope I'll do fine :) Thank you so much for your moral support!

In Atlanta we have a huge and nice Asian farmers market called Buford Farmers Market. They have tons of Asian groceries, perfect for us to cook at home. But really though, most of the South East Asian restaurants there are totally underwhelming. I still can't find any good Malaysian food as well as a nice bowl of tom yum soup :jest:

If we head over to Cali, I will be asking for some pointers from you ;)

All the best to you too @J/G (F)

That information was really helpful as I’m struggling through the same process now myself.

Ive found my WAC number on the top of my I-797. But .....what do you enter in the ‘Priority Date from Underlying Petition’?

Where do I find that date?

Many thanks

Thanks very much.

Just one more follow up question regarding the medical examination and vaccination record.

I had all my shots done for my K1 Visa....only thing I didn’t have was my Flu shot. Which I’ve just had done recently at Walgreens.

Did I have to have my flu shot done by a medical professional so that they could sign it off?

Or can I just send the receipt I’ve got from my flu shot to accompany my other medical paperwork from my K1 Visa

Many thanks

I'm almost certain they won't accept the flu shot from Walgreens.  It has to be administered by a authorized civil surgeon.

The flu shot is only needed if you did your K1 medical in flu season (October-March), not when submitting AoS during that season. For example I did my medical in July, and submitted AoS last month so it was not required. It does get tricky depending when your AoS case is adjudicated though. Nich-Nick summed it up in another post very well:

Quote

"if you sent DS-3025 and the AOS case happens to get adjudicated when it is not flu season (April 1-Sept 30), then because a flu shot is not required at that time, you would not be required to have one, even if it was required on the medical date of record. That's how the field manual reads. Please understand, it is not when you mail in your AOS. it is when the adjudicator pulls your file off the stack to review it for approval. So first question is "Do you think you will get AOS approval before Sept 30?"

If your case get adjudicated without interview and it is flu season, you could get an RFE to submit an I-693. If an interview at your local office, they could go say get your immunizations complete and mail it to this office, then I can approve you. Or they could even not notice it.

So the most correct thing is get an I-693 now. Or if you don't mind a short delay if your case is not reviewed until next October, then take a chance with what you've got. Pay a civil surgeon only if you are forced to."

Hope that helps!

Some people say they have left this blank and everything went well.

I think it will be up to the person reviewing your application and how they feel that day to look it up themselves or not.
