Hello all,

Where does one pay the immigrant visa fee after filing DS-160? Is this just done at the Consulate now? The website I found on packet 4 does not seem to work. Thanks!

IMMIGRANT VISA FEES If you have previously paid all fees due to the National Visa Center or on the appointment website, there will be no additional fees to pay on the day of the interview. If you have not paid fees at the NVC or on the CSC website, please be prepared to pay the required fees on the day of your interview. All fees may be paid in US dollars or the Canadian dollar equivalent. We accept cash and credit cards only. Please note if a person is found ineligible to receive a visa, the application fee cannot be refunded. A complete list of fees can be found here http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/fees‐visa‐services.html

I'm not sure if yours is the same as mine (CR-1) maybe you have a different system but I pay using ceac https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

That's the weird thing. When we submitted the DS-160 at the website above we were never asked to make a payment. We had payment out and ready and it never came up. Now we have our DS-160 confirmation and have not yet paid?

We had the same experience. We completed the DS-160 and were never asked for the payment. I read on a website that it is paid at the consulate, but I'm not 100% sure.

I believe I saw that you could pay when you finally can schedule the interview but I may be wrong. I know I read that somewhere.

Thank you! I did speak with someone who went through the process at Montreal and they confirmed this with me.

Thanks! Turns out you can pay when you schedule your interview OR at the consulate in cash :)

When you go to make your appointment (via instructions on packet 4) you are asked to pay after putting in your name and address.

This happens via:

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/iv

You literally cannot make an interview appointment without first paying the fee.

If you want to pay the fee with cash (if no credit card) you have about 5 days to do so at a local Scotia Bank branch with the information they provide you.

After those 5 days if you still haven't paid, you would need to register for a new payment identification number and would have another 5 days, etc..

Credit card payment is made online.
