1. I am nervous about putting the "correct income" on the Affidavit of Support. Do I want adjusted gross income or "total income"? I was told line 22 on the 1040, but I don't think that's the adjusted? Help! Also, I was told I do not HAVE to use my past 3 tax returns... My 2016 tax return is about 29,000 - but in 2015/2014 I was in college working part time, so I was around $16,000... Any thoughts? I now make about $48,000 a year and can verify with pay slips. See #3 below for more on this...

2. I can reprint my tax returns from the H&R Block website - but they will say "customer copy" watermarked on each page. Is this okay? I was told these are official documents - has anyone else used these?

3. My employer uses the "TheWorkNumber" website - which only allows viewing employment verification ONLINE. Thus, I can not print an employment verification form... I can bring pay stubs galore - and I was told an employment verification letter is not necessary. Again, what do you guys think? I know my paystubs have my YTD etc...

We're super nervous as are most people at this stage... We have our case number and it was sent from the NVC to the embassy about a day ago. We really appreciate ALL advice... I have seen her twice in the past 2 years, my last trip was September as I saved my money to BE WITH HER at our interview once we choose a date. We communicate by Skype, Face time daily, email a couple times a week. Thank you everyone!!

Some countries are stricter than others when it comes to the income requirements. What embassy/consulate is the interview going to be at?

My fiancé just had his interview in Casablanca, Morocco.

1. I don't remember what line of the 1040 it is, but we used my total income before taxes, ect.

2. For the taxes returns, I printed the transcript directly from the IRS (https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript). It doesn't cost anything to get them online and it only takes a few minutes.

3. My employer also uses "TheWorkNumber" website..I did print all of the pages for him to bring to the interview. I also provided 6 months of paystubs. They ended up not asking for any of these during the interview. They wanted the 2016 tax transcript and that was it. My annual income is similar to yours.
