I-130 interview

Hey,

 

So I know this question will have been asked before but I honestly cannot find an answer! apologies in advance! But hopefully someone will be able to answer this pretty quickly.

 

I see that for k1 it seems that people schedule their own interview in London, is this the same for an i-130? Anything I've read online about the process seems to suggest that your interview is scheduled for you. Im not at that stage yet, we've only been at NVC for roughly 2 weeks but im trying to get a ballpark idea on roughly when I could expect to move over for good. (My husband and I just bought a house in the USA so I really really cannot wait to move over lol)

NVC will schedule your interview and notify you of the date. You will have about a month's lead time and will get your medical done In that interim time.

My case was completed July 3rd - still waiting for an interview.  Seems like it's taking several weeks to a month and half for available slots right now.

 

Estimated timeline : NVC (11 weeks per their website) + maybe 1-2 months for available interview slot + 2 weeks (give or take) for the passport to get back to you

This is assuming you have no checklists.  If you do, it could potentially reset the NVC duration.

You have came complete, that's wonderful! I remember answering your questions when you were assembling your initial petition. So pleased to see that everything has gone well so far. Fingers crossed you get an interview date soon.

It was thanks to you and others like you I managed to trudge though the uscis and nvc hell  thank you so much for all your help with the Uk process.

 

update: just called and found out they assigned a date of August 16. Almost at the finish line!!!

That's great! Just need to arrange the medical then now.
