Congrats on starting your journey.  As others said, expect at least half a year.  While you prepare, I offer 4 pieces of advice:

1.  Start planning NOW.  Read up well ahead of time on all the requirements from start to finish so you know what both of you will need to obtain, assemble, and save in terms of all the necessary items in advance and during your visits.  Planning ahead goes a long ways towards a smoother journey.

2.  Organize everything with a clear table of contents and clearly labeled sections when submitting your application.  And don't send way more than what is sufficient. Just as long as all bases are well covered, it's good. The adjunctators will appreciate you doing these things for them rather than have to sort through a jumble of hundreds of pages themselves.

3.  Check here with any question and to even have your packet reviewed, before submitting.  The guidance here is unparalleled, invaluable, impeccable, and, most importantly, free.

4.  BE THERE with your fiancé for the interview.

Good luck! :)

I really hope I will be able to request off from work to be there with her during her interview and for us to come back together. Thanks for all your tips and guidance.

Hello,

How long does the K1 process take for Philippines to US? My girlfriend lives in Manila.

I might be starting the process in a few months time, and I'm just trying to get an idea on how long the whole process takes these days.

From receipt of your petition at USCIS to completing the interview, I would say 6 months or little less.  Things move much quicker now a days.

Petition process;  3 months, give or take

NVC, get your MNL # and forward the case file to USEM;  30-45 days

USEM, this is a mixed deal as you can complete many things while the case file is in transit; 30-60 days

With my wife I had her interview scheduled about one month after getting the MNL#, the visa package was delivered about 2 weeks after the interview.   Biggest difference now a days is USCIS is processing in about 90 days compared to 180 days back "when".  The medical file from SLEC is hand carried now, before it was recommended to allow upwards of 10 days between medical and interview - now some do both in the same week.

CFO can be completed before receiving the visa so that can save time also.

Oh.. and DO NOT use the guides here for the process at the embassy!    The link in my signature works much better for USEM.

USCIS and the petition process is straight forward.. shouldn't have any issues there if you follow the instructions form that goes with the I-129F
