Frage, I believe Visajourney has a a different forum group for AOS processes.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/130-adjustment-of-status-from-work-student-amp-tourist-visas/

Yes but my question also included the I130 because I don't know when this will get approved (before or after AOS) and also will the I130 get us the green card? I'll take a look at the other forum then. Thanks!

Heathermorales1, awesome! Another July filer...

I would think that we may need more than 3-5 months even. Texas is currently working on Feb 12 - another threat indicates Feb 17 BUT there are still VJ members with PD dates from December/January waiting for their NOA2...

In a way, it is just a waiting game but I would expect to hear back in December/January but I wouldn't mind earlier, that is for sure! However, in Texas is currently working on cases filed (as of today) six months prior. February may even be likely. In their report, USCIS indicates that Texas has 72.000 outstanding. They finished 19.000 cases according to their Q1 2017 report (I hope I am not getting the numbers wrong as it has been a while since I read it.) but if they maintain the same speed and given they receive the same number of cases... 6 months seems to be more likely.

The faster one is currently Potomac.

Good luck and happy waiting to all of us!

thank you so much i am going to be following this thread throughout my process! so it really is a waiting game then i wish i would have got potomac lol! but im hoping that this whole process doe not take more then a year. i am fortunate my husband is in the united states now. i am still new to all this and is it so confusing but from what i was told by the lawyer is once we receive this approval back then we send out another form for his appointment in Mexico (Juarez) and that that was one of the longer waits ? not sure. i wonder if anyone else has a similar case .

Hello everyone!!!!! Glad I found this forum. I filed for my wife who is in Costa Rica. Form I-130

my priority date is July 31 and I'm at the TSC.  Just looking at the website it says that TSC is currently processing  cases as of November 2, 2017. Please add me to the list. A few questions, I am not sure of a lot of the acronyms such as "rfe " "aos " etc...any help?? Also, is getting the NOA2 the longest wait we will have? I was thinking after we get the noa2 then maybe it'll move faster?

thanks everyone

Hi there!

The TSC was officially processing cases from November 2nd back in June 30th. But when you check the user-generated timeline here on VisaJourney it seems like it's february (which is why it's important to fill in your timeline cause it helps with the statistics).

RFE means Request For Evidence, which USCIS sends you if they need more info or if a particular document is missing from your file. AOS means Affidavit Of Support which is another file/form you have to send when you get to the NVC part of the process to prove you have enough income to support your spouse.

Finally, theoretically the time between NOA1 and NOA2 is indeed the longest part of the process. The NVC part usually takes 3 to 4 months. And then you have to wait for your interview, which could take up to 2 months (except for a few embassies that take much longer, but I don't think that's the case for Costa Rica).

Hi everyone...

My husband and I just got married on June 27th (he's from the UK and we're applying for him to move to US to live with me through CR-1)

-We mailed out our I-130 packet on July 6th

-NOA1: We received a receipt notice via text & e-mail July 13th

(For some reason, I never received a receipt notice in the mail. I have checked for it constantly, confirmed my correct address is on file with USCIS, and called my post office;  however, USCIS told me as long as I have my receipt #/case # (which I got through text/email) that I won't need the mailed form..which I hope is true)

-Priority Date: July 10th

-Service Center: Potomac

So far, that's all I know... we just keep hoping & praying for the best, and doing our best to make sure we're handling everything on our end as quickly & thoroughly as we can...

I've heard Potomac is currently processing the fastest, but I'm not positive if that's true, or how much faster it is thought to be...

We, of course, just want nothing more than to be together again as quickly as possible, and stay that way this time..

Any info/best guesses on length of time for an NOA2 from Potomac are much appreciated

I'll do my best to keep updated I'm just unfamiliar with using this site

Good luck everyone :)
