People...everyone needs to relax a little! This is one very anxious group here!! Everyone knows that it takes 6-9 months, according to my lawyer, and most of us are still within that range. And if you didn’t know, now you do...straight from the mouth of an immigration lawyer. Wasting time calling and being on hold, and getting in here everyday and asking “how long does this take” when we clearly already know how long it takes is also and act of futility.

We are all getting close so try to tone down the anxiety and exercise patience. I find this all a little dramatic at times and not why I signed up for this website. I’ll definitely be skipping the visa forum after this because reading anxiety filled emails everyday, filled with rhetorical questions day after day (when we’re still within the expected time frame), is not what I want expected to be doing.

Congrats to those who have been approved and good luck to everyone else. Take care

I called them 3 times and got the same answer! (You are within the normal processing time). Also I have an appointment coming next week with the local USCIS and hoping that would let me know what's going on with my case. My PD is July 3rd TSC

Hi there!

I filed in July and received my first notice of action on July 10 2017, still waiting for the approval. My service center is Texas. Spoke to an online lawyer today she said that one of her clients that filed in May recently received her approval, so hang in there!

Congratulations!

I got my first noa1 on July 10th 2017. Called them a couple weeks back they are heartless! I have a 2 year old i filed for along with my husband, they dont consider that a baby is waiting to be with his mom. When i called I was roughly told i will not receive anything in about 5 months! Reading you comment I am keeping my hope up high! When did you get  noa1 and then approval? texas service center right?

Hello,

Only just found this forum. I started looking around for information, because I'm getting a bit frustrated with this situation.

My wife (US citizen) submitted our petition, and we received the NOA1 notice date July 13/17, with a PD of July 11/17.

I'm currently waiting in Canada for something to happen.

Our petition is sitting at the TSC.

I've been monitoring the processing dates at the TSC, and to my surprise, they were updated to November 30/17, yesterday Jan. 29/18

Now, this is where the frustration part kicks in...... on this latest update, they are working on cases (I-130 US Citizen filing for Spouse)

dated March 02/17.

From the Sept. 30/17 update (Feb. 02) to this one, they have managed to clear up one month of petitions (for our category).

If it's taking them two months to clear up one month worth of petitions, at this rate our case will not be move along until the end of July.

I'm not sure how this site is coming up with a "prediction" that our case should be looked at by mid Feb., that seems a bit unrealistic.

The other thing that's a head scratcher, is, that if the same I-130 was filed by a "Permanent Resident for a Spouse", this latest update has them working

cases as of July 01/17!!

I've gone through many of the posts in this thread, and I'm wondering if some of the Petitioners might be Permanent Residents? I'm asking this because, from what I see on the USIS site (TSC processing) , it doesn't seem possible that any Petitioners that are US Citizens are anywhere close to getting approved.

Sorry for the long winded post, I'm just trying interject some logic into an illogical situation.

I am a US citizen who also filled for my wife to come on the I130 petition. I have a priority date of July 13th 2017.  I have not received NOA2 note with the case now being pending for 201 days. I have the service center for Potomac. The service center last updated and did not show any information for the I130 form. Any ideas on why are what is going on at that service center?

I wouldn't trust the USCIS updates. I would fill out my timeline on here, and then get an estimated adjudication date because users are way more prompt at updating their approvals than the official site. Heck, my receipt number still doesn't work on the USCIS page, and my PD is 24 August!

I-130 processing filed by a permanent resident for spouse looks faster but the reality is they have to wait for a visa number to become available. So even if their I-130 is processed seemingly earlier than USC, they won't get their green card faster.

Keep reading the information on this forum. I have found it extremely useful :)
