Errors on k1 (NOA1 was June 5th)

Of course, after reviewing the application 100 times and having others review it as well, we submitted it and did receive the first approval and we've now realized that there are some errors and some information that we need to correct.

At what point are we supposed to do this so that it doesn't mess up the process?

Do we wait to see if they catch the errors and send us an RFE or do  we need to contact California and let them know that there was information that we failed to put on there?

A few errors are a missing signature and some incorrect addresses by a few numbers.

One major error is the last name my fiancé's mother used for him as a child, even though it was never his legal name.

We did not put that on the application because she simply used it during his primary  School age years so that he would have the same last name as his brother and sister from their stepdad.

I did post a very similar question in the United Kingdom forum and got a wonderful response from a well respected member of this community and I wanted to see if anyone else had anything to add.

I think everybody so much for taking the time to read my posts!

You will need to wait for USCIS to contact you. You do not send in additional or new documents subsequently while pending adjudication even if you think/know something might cause a RFE

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

@AZSunshine78 When I discovered errors in forms I had filed, I sent in a letter to the service center that had my name, DOB, USCIS number and receipt number.  The letter explained what the errors were and what the correct information should be.  I signed and dated it and never received an RFE, so it may be helpful to do that.

The gentleman I spoke with at infopass advised it's uncommon to self-initiate a corrective measure like that, and it's not guaranteed to be accepted, but for me, I had to, for my own peace of mind.

Would you mind sharing how you addressed it? Did you have a person to address it to? Ours is currently at the California center.

If you have missing signatures you just need to wait for the RFE. Signatures are kind of important and it's not something you can add later on a piece of paper in a letter.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

WHEN you get the RFE, you can submit additional information to correct any errors you see. The RFE is your time to fix things and submit any other info to help your case.

If you somehow get an NOA2 right away instead, then you're just fine... correct the errors at the interview stage and on DS-160 if you need to.

thank you for sharing

Send it to the address on the bottom of the NOA1 and just address it To Whom This May Concern.

It was about 8 weeks after filing (and 6 after receiving an NOA1) that I noticed I had made a few errors.

I just noticed you are missing signatures.  In that case, reprint the page(s) with incorrect/missing information so they can be swapped out.

I was also suggested to just wait for an rfe but I like to be proactive instead of reactive, especially since I didn't want to wait another 3-4 months for an rfe and reset the processing time.  Infopass told me that they will open the letter, and then locate your file and place it in there.  This way whenever it gets onto someone's desk they will have the original package and your corrected paperwork.
