Hello everybody! My wife and I are getting everything ready for her interview in Ciudad Juarez August 4... I was wondering if you guys could look over the list of documents I have and tell me if I need anything else..much appreciated

ds-260

p4letter

601-a waiver approved

Mexican passport

(2) passport pictures

all receipts of everything paid to the different agencies

original birth certificates from my wife, nine and our 2 kids

my citizenship certificate original and copy

both police clearances one from USA and one from Mexico

taxes from 3 previous years as well as w4s and pay stubs

bills proving we are paying off a car loan

electricity bill

medical insurance proof showing the whole family covered

And finally photos of family trips

is that good enough...?

We are going a week later than you, and have pretty much the same items. Although we do have 2 copies of each original document, just to make sure we have everything.

I don't see your marriage certificate original and copy on your list. I would take the tax transcripts, not just the tax returns. As far as bills, I would take items that have both of your names on them. If you have a 401K plan, and if you have your wife as a beneficiary, take that. By the DS-260, you mean the confirmation page? Also print out the page confirmation from when you scheduled your ASC appointment. If y'all are getting medicals done, take your vaccination records. My lawyer said that the police clearance letter from the USA is not needed because you are getting your finger printing and background at the ASC, and that pulls all the USA records for you. But it's a good idea to take it, just in case.

Hello my wife's interview is scheduled for August 4 in Ciudad Juarez.. can anybody give us some tips or advice on what to Expect? Thank you appreciate it

You can also send a private message to Zurdo (VJ display name). He is a good resource as his wife recently got her visa approved. He will write a review on his experience and what they asked when he gets a change. In the meanwhile you can check out the reviews here:

Hi,

Im in the same boat as you my fiancés interview is the same day at Juarez.

Do a search on visajourney there are a number of posts by people that have had their interview at Juarez.

I don't think it much different than any other place.

Wish you luck.

Hi, no I won't be joining him. I've started a job fairly recently so not much time off. It's a concern ; him traveling to Juarez on his own but he knows not to go out after dark for his own safety.he just finished today with his medical in Mexico City and is going for his fingerprints on Monday so streaming right along. Again wishing ya all the best of luck.

Thank you.. I have been to Tijuana many times but never to Juarez so I don't know how everything is over there but I have heard is dangerous specially for the people that look out of place

My wife and I are leaving tomorrow to Ciudad Juarez for her interview.. should I take cash or just use my credit card?

I had a horrible experience with a credit card when I went to Juarez. My bank froze my card while in Juarez because it was too far from my hometown (California) and they assumed it had been stolen or something. I couldn't pay the medical exams on time, but luckily I solved the problem somehow. My advice is: make sure to set up a travel plan with your bank so they know you're gonna be in Ciudad Juarez, or bring cash as back up and leave it at the hotel. Sometimes hotels have safe boxes, ask for those.

Is not that dangerous but you need to be carefull because like everywhere is people trying to take advance of others, this people pull people over asking them if they have all the documents and copies ready for the interview or they say that they can make biometrics appointment or the medical appointments for some money, NOT TRUSTH in them, you not need appointment for the clinic and you have to make your appointment for biometrics by yourself in your computer. Is a few hotels around the consulate make your reservation and Good luck to your wife!!!:D

Make sure that you have notified your bank or credit card company that you are going abroad, otherwise your credit card might be declined. The hotels and medical clinics take credit cards, the embassy should not charge you anything since you have already paid your fees. I would use cash for other establishments, restaurants, stores, etc. In general I don't trust small establishments with credit cards. With credit cards, if they are stolen you can quickly freeze them, and depending what kind of credit card you have, they can protect you from unauthorized purchases. Can't do that with cash.  As a plus, if you have cash rewards or points you will be racking them up.
