Sorry I didn't understand. So you already get the NOA1 , the first notice ? But it take four months? Where did you send to ?

Yes, my petition is already approved as of June 9th. I just never received the NOA1 (February file receive date) or NOA2 (K1 petition approval) notices in the mail. And it is my understanding that they, at least the NOA2, is required for the Adjustment of status. the mail system is horrible in Mexico (took almost 3 months to get my fiance's Australian police certificate, which arrived today and it was sent certified). I have a better chance of being struck by lightning, then get regular post in this country.

I'm sorry I laughed  because this is so damn true!

I'm not receiving any papers and I'm certainly not expecting them.  fortunately my husband is in the U.S and he did get our NOA1, no problem.

So you know the struggle IS real. Mail in Mexico is the absolute pits.

NOA1 and NOA2 for an I-129F should be sent to a US petitioner's address.  If the petitioner is not living in the USA, they will need to reestablish domicile (or intent thereof) and should change their address with the USCIS to a US family member or friend who is reliable.

if we curse here, I'm sure I'd be saying a LOT more about it.

Now that we've been going through U.S immigration it isn't that much better. I hope it was, but it seems that all government departments tend to be horrible.

Yes, but they did say that it was mailed to my Mexico address (I am the petitioner). I was in the US 2 weeks ago, and was able to finally talk to an officer and they made the change of address to the US address we will be living at, but it's late in the game and they are not saying if they will reissue any previous notices.

I already have Domicile in the US... car, car insurance, all my credit cards, my driver license. It all stayed at the mailing address that I will be living at. So that is covered. I did my part in the entire process.. to a T!

that's good! It seems like you're all set :) You're lucky you get to be with your partner. Even if Mexico is/was crazy. I see mine every 2-3 months sometimes and ugh, it's rough. I can't wait for this to be over!

We met here and are both foreigners. I do feel like we are very fortunate. I admire everyone that goes months without seeing their loved ones.

you are indeed pretty fortunate! and I'm genuinely happy for you. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone. Well, maybe like, my worst enemy or something. Maybe.

10 months and counting. Some days are harder than others.

You need the noa2 for the AOS. Ask them to send it again.

I did. And they (and this came from another supervisor who helped on another issue).... said no. I will try again. But there has to be another way.

It will have been 8 months apart when I see my fiance again in September! He is 22 hours away by flight (not including layover times), so sadly visiting often just isn't affordable and feasible. You are very fortunate indeed! But the bright side is that I will always remember the time we had to spend apart and will hopefully never take our time together for granted because of this. Always have to find some positive to everything, right! :)

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

- The Dalai Lama
