Hi,

I need some help on filling out part 6 of I-864. I am sponsoring my mom.

Filed Joint tax return for 2016 with my husband as i was employed from Aug 2016. From June1, 2017 i am unemployed.

So i still had income from January - May 2017. I have checked Part 6 item number 1.d saying i am Unemployed.

Now my question is, what do i put in part 6, item number 2 for "My current individual annual income" ?

Should i put in my gross income from Jan-May2017 or $0 since i stated i am unemployed from June 2017.

Please anyone help on this matter as this is the only item we have left before i can send my packet.

I want to answer this correctly as i dont want to have a checklist. Thanks everyone!

they want current income that will continue when the immigrant arrives. if you get a new job next week they will only want that income as if you were working there all year put down.

So i should not include any paystubs from Jan to May then? Thanks for your response!

they have no weight since you no longer work there. unless you have assets that cover it you will need a joint sponsor.

I do have my husband as joint sponsor. Thank you for helping!
