Good Afternoon,

AH! Is how I currently feel. My husbands appt is at the end of this month. we got together september 2015. Married in march 2016. I have never had any type of stds or anything. I know for a fact I got together with my husband with nothing wrong no symptoms of anything. I got symptoms of a rash on hands and feet November 2016. went to the doctor here in mexico where we are living currently and the doc told me it was a virus and would go away with medicine. At the beginning of this month the nurse that works at the clinic told me I needed to go back and get tested for syphalis that the doctor mis diagnosed me and was very sorry. WTHECK it has been almost a year after. I went to get tested and came out positive and my husband tested two weeks after and his came out negative. I have asked and it is tested for at the medical exam but can anyone tell me if it comes out postive can it affect his results. Can anyone tell me why his is neg and mine postive

Are they certain it's a positive and not a false positive? Are you on any treatments, blood thinners for example?

Has lupus been ruled out?

Sometimes you can get false positive results if you have a disease during which your immune system produces antibodies which are similar to the ones produced in the presence of syphilis.

Does your husband have any symptoms syphilis?

If he keeps testing negative, it's worth exploring the path of autoimmune diseases such as lupus on your part.

Wish you all the very best.
