Hello guys,I just want to ask if anyone here submitted the Certified True Copy of their Marriage Certificate instead of submitting the Orig MC copy for the Report of Their Marriage at the Phil.Consulate in Chicago?Me and my Husband are so skeptical to send our Marriage Certificate worried that it will be mishandle or will be lost in the mail.Hope you can help us with our query. Will be waiting for your reply:).Godbless us all☺️

I will be applying for my Report of Marriage  in one of our  Consulate(Phillipine Embassy)in Chicago, and one of their requirements are Orig Copy of Marriage Certificate as well as the Certified True Copy and other photocopies of our legal docs.

Will be applying for removal after we accomplish the ROM.

You can do the Certified True Copy of the MC in order to do the ROM. That's my asawa and I did when we did her ROM to the Washington DC Philippine Embassy. Also it is in the requirements from the Chicago Consulate that it is either/or so you can send either one of them.

You sent EITHER the original or a CERTIFIED TRUE copy.   Did you record your marriage with the county?  You get certified true copies from there.

"One (1) original or certified true copy and four (4) photocopies of the Marriage Record (original will be returned) "

As for where to file ROM, it must be filed through the consulate having jurisdiction over the state you were married in.

Certified true copy is what they need.

not the original itself
