Hi,

I attended my medical recently. Having had my x-rays done, the technician asked me to return to the x-ray room to take more than would be usual as something abnormal was showing up on my left side. Whilst unusual, they couldn't say exactly what, as the images would be analysed by a radiologist this week. Then I had to do the rest of the medical with this in my mind but no real information about what this x-ray abnormality meant. I was told as with everybody else to operate on a 'no news is good news' basis. There isn't much solace in this approach though and so this week is pretty tough, not knowing at all what this meant. Even if not serious, I am nervous about this being a cause to delay my process if treatment is required.

I'm really not sure. Just wondering if anyone else had any similar situations, or any reassurances would be appreciated.

Do you know if you have been infected with a TB infection in the past or had the TB disease?

I myself had latent TB in 1994, treated for six months. At the medical, the panel physician said it could be possible that I have some scarring tissue from it.

Edit; I did not buy the scarring tissue since I was told by the hospital TB infection is not in the lungs but it did not delay my visa process. I had three weeks to gather all necessary documents from my treatment (as in documents from 1994 had to be dug up), proof of treatment etc. Upon arrival in the US, I did had to go to the Tennessee Department of Health to get checked again.

Try not to worry about it. (hard and darn near impossible I know) But it can be anything from they used bad film to she took the picture too soon and you didn't get a full breath in. The tech's don't know much about x-rays so that is why they sent it off.
