It is not denied based on your age gap. He has to prove his financial capabilities and willingness to return. I am the female foreign spouse, i am  13 years older, I am Chinese, husband is Irish American, I am agnostic, he is catholic,  not a single question was asked at our interviews.

Well you aren't going through Morocco. We are both Muslim and have an age gap and it was a huge issue at our k1 interview. We were then put on AP for 14 weeks and had our visa returned to the US.

Morocco is a whole lot different than China.

No we were not approved. When your visa is returned to the US it's expired and not approved.

And I apologize for the presumption.  I did not look at your profile just noted you had said Chinese fiance.

Don't agree that any K-1 delays any marriage by 90 days.

Ehat tou are are explaining now has nothing to do with a K-1 given a 90 day delay on marriage

" So for opinion sake, would it be better for us to get married or should we wait until he goes for the fiancee visa ".

That is the question asked. Should they marry & file for a CR 1 or go thru the K 1 process which if granted simply allows the same wedding to take place within 90 days of entry. A K 1 simply delays that marriage by up to 90 days.

I can still not see that at all. There are no delays what so ever on any of it.

I apologize for assuming that was our age.  He stated the interviewers whole demeanor changed once he learned my age.

Demeanor might have changed because his assumption about your fiancé's reasons for the visa or relationship probably shifted.  The stereotypical assumption (that comes with some justification in terms of case studies) is that a relationship from the MENA region with an older American woman with kids and younger man should be questioned.  It is not always the case, but often men from less wealthy countries will explicitly target older single mothers for money or immigration benefits.  It is their M.O.

A K 1 is designed for people to marry within 90 days. In the above case right on this thread we see a living example for what can happen especially when its Morocco. In the case above they never did get a visa. Even if they did they would be married within 90 days. The delay you cant understand is in that 90 days. Look at the time that passed by in the above case.

I am sure they would agree they should have married in Morocco then got the CR1 type. However marrying in Morocco takes some serious planning & time as well.

I know how a K-1 works. I did it ;)

Other then that no I still can't see a K-1 will delay a marriage by 90 days. It has nothing to do with what you are saying.

You can't just say it will delay it by 90 days that does not make sense. I'm fully aware about the embassy they are going through and that they will also most likely get in AP after the interview before a decision is made but that still has nothing to do with what you said.

When we had permanent residence interview 29 years ago after my wife got here on a K1, the interviewer asked me a couple of dumb questions. She saw the letter from my employer. She said never heard of that company. I said hey pick up the newspaper they are listed on the NYSE and are the biggest landowner in the state of Louisiana. She did that and said okay. Then she asked me if I had health insurance. We had a really cadillac plan which I showed her. She remarked well thats a lot better than mine. Those were the only questions she asked.

I am more than certain that was a mitigating factor.  I can't begin to tell you what I put that guy through to get where we are today. lol  I'm just gonna say it was a lot.  I had men trying to catfish me before that and I saw right through them.  Two of them were from Morocco.  When I first met Anass I thought, "here we go again".  It turned out to be different.  And unless he sees this post I'm writing now... I have never told him.  I asked every question under the sun.  I couldn't believe it myself.  I had read horror stories about these women that got their hearts stomped on.  So I was careful.  He never gave me any reason to doubt him.  Neither did his family.  It kind of feels like a cookie cutter judgment, but we are doing our best to build a strong case.  If it turns out poorly, I'm moving there and we are going to get married.  He is happy with that answer and so am I.  :)

It wasn't appropriate or necessary for the officer to comment on the bona fides of your relationship during a tourist visa interview.

Well I didn't really think so either, but what do I know lol.  I work for the federal government myself and there's a lot that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Ask him why he was denied, he would have been given a notice with the reason.

Knowing very little about you overall situation it is impossible to comment which is the better option.

As others have mentioned there is a lot of fraud at this Consulate, makes it so much harder for the genuine cases.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
