Hi everyone,

Our interview for adjustments of status (my husband's) is next week. We used a cosponsor since I am in school still. On the notification that they sent us a list of items to bring. The one I have a question about is the following: "A completed affidavit(s) of support (Form I-864) with all required evidence, including the following, for each of your sponsors (unless already submitted):

-Federal Income Tax Returns and W-2s, or certified IRS printouts, for the most recent tax year;

-Letters from each current employer, verifying current rate of pay and average weekly hours, and pay stubs for past two months:

-Evidence of United States citizenship or legal residence"

My question is since we already submitted the I-864 in November, do we have to submit the extra listed things? Thank you so much for any help. I really appreciate it!

I didn't bring the financial documents again since we had a ton of them and submitted them twice (the original package and RFIE package) and the IO haven't even asked for them :) but I think it varies. I would say that is better to take it if you don't have such a huge file of Affidavit of support. Better safe than sorry :)

@Bzlibem what was the RFIE package? We submitted our packets in November, and our interview is next week. We are having difficulties getting the 2016 tax return from our cosponsor. Also, my husband has completed 40 qualifying quarters in the US, so technically, I believe, we shouldn't need the form at this point. I'm just still worried since this all feels so uncertain! Thanks for the reply.

My RFIE package was a 2016 tax return, corrected I-864,a bunch of contracts, paychecks, bank statements, employment verification documents etc.. all the financial things :)

it would be great if you got the tax return from your cosponsor in case they ask.. or if you can't get it then maybe get a signed letter from your cosponsor with explaination why you can't  present the tax return. That would put you on a safe side

aboit the work quarters I honestly have no idea :( i believe that I saw somewhere that beneficiary can't sponsor itself but I don't know if it is true or is anywhere relevant to your situation so I don't want to misinform you here

if I were you I would take the Affidavit of support and supporting documents  with me to the interview just to avoid RFE after but on the other hand you already submitted it so they shouldn't require it. Our interview was very short and the IO hasn't taken anything from us he only asked if my sponsor (husband) is still employed..

certainly focus more on bringing various marriage evidence :) since they spend 80% of the interview going through it
