@SquashGuy that status means you are in-line for interview. Keep checking your status regularly (or sign up for case updates here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) for another status which will say that your interview date has been set and interview letter has been mailed. The interview date, time and location will be specified on the letter. Simultaneously call USCIS and ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer. He/she should be able to give you the current status of your case i.e. whether your interview has been scheduled and when. Worst case scenario: make an infopass appointment with your field office here: https://my.uscis.gov/appointment and speak to a customer service officer directly. Depending on how busy your field office is, it make take a few weeks so your fastest option is to call USCIS.

Thanks for the info @LRP I had a mini-freak out there But realized looking at the progress posts that's what 'In Line' refers to, so thanks for confirming. It also looks like there a ~3 month lag (for Newark) from that step to the next, so I'm probably okay. Appreciate the speedy post!

we were in line September 9th and received interview letter in December....also NJ. 3 months sounds about right.

Well, it looks like my husband's interview is still on for tomorrow. I am hoping he will still be able to take the oath too since they do it the same day. Wish us luck!

yipee...mark us red! Interview and ceremony on the same day. Ceremony was touching and beautiful. I was impressed. 22 people from 16 different countries got their citizenship...youngest was 19...oldest was 88. longest person on a GC was 53 years! This man made it so personal for everyone. The man that was here for 53 years..even had the gentleman's original greencard from when he was a kid!

We arrived at noon for a 12:30pm appointment. my husband got called in about 1:15pm. they asked him 6 questions, had him read and write a sentence and then went over the questions from the application. They did not ask for any paperwork other than his Italian passport, drivers license and greencard. Ceremony was at 3pm so we just waited there. Overall a beautiful experience. All the best to everyone still waiting.

Now to hurry and get a passport before the next government shutdown on February 6th.

its been a little over 3months since my interview. The officer marked "a decision cannot be made" and said he had to review my file a bit more. What steps do i need to take? Over 90 days seems way too long. I only have traffic offenses and i applied under the file year rule. I'm not sure why the IO is delaying my case.

I think it's weird/makes no sense they would do a i751 interview minutes after your n400 interview, but wondering what your plan is. And please share details after you go!

Just to clarify----my interview/application quoted above had *nothing* to do with a pending i-751....thankfully, I never had that additional stress that others on this thread had (I feel for them!)

Legally they have to adjudicate the case within 120 days after the interview....if I were you, I'd call USCIS and request an L2 officer so see if there is any info they can give you/put in an inquiry on your behalf (sometimes the nicer L2 officers will do this for you).
