N-400 July 2017 Filers

Hi everyone, I'm a July 15 filer, I did the fingerprints in October 6, received the date of interview in December 4. Had my interview on January 9 and took the Oath on January 11.

Thanks to everyone here for your helps and contributions, it made the process easy and smooth. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting

I remember when I went to get my I-551 the first thing I was told was go home and apply for your citizenship!

My citizenship process is in the normal time processing. But for my I-751 I got the letter to submit more evidences, which I did and I got the letter from them that I will get answer from them in 60 days, but it never happened.

I'm just hoping my interview goes smooth. I've been married for over 5 years. 

My interview is for next time. I can't wait to be done with this journey of my life.

For the interview, are you planning on taking your significant other? I have my interview a week after you, and I also have my i751 pending...

I read someone's experience also from July applicants who said when they went to the interview they were asked to go into the n400 interview by themselves, and that once they were done another officer conducted a i751 interview (in which they had the significant other go into as well as she had gone to the office with him.) I think it's weird/makes no sense they would do a i751 interview minutes after your n400 interview, but wondering what your plan is. And please share details after you go!

Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.
Cashd: Date your check was cashed / credit card was charged by USCIS.
NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview.

I'm not sure if I misunderstood what you meant with that link. I didn't see that person had I751 interview at all.

But to me as the letter says it's the interview for my N400 and I'm going for that even though my I751 is still pending. 

To be honest I don't care about my I751 at this moment, because when I get my citizenship I don't need my green card.

I will share more details after my interview and I hope you will have a great interview as well.

Wow, I definitely linked you to the incorrect thread, I apologize.

I understand what you are doing as I am on the same boat, but even though they interview you for your n400 they can not fully approve you until the i751 actually gets approved.... your n400 will eventually be left on hold pending until the i751 is approved.

That's where my question is (this time I am linking to the right recent post about it) where the person went to their n400 interview and they were told they would just do the i751 interview 30 mins later... I've read of cases where some people pass the n400 and are left on hold a couple of months until a i751 interview is set up for them

I didn’t know that

then it means I would never get my citizenship

They asked me for more evidence (I751)

I sent them on July, got the letter from them they will make a decision in 60 days.

I didn’t hear anything from them, called USCIS on September, they sent a letter to me that they will make a decision in 60 days, didn’t hear anything from them again,I called them back on Nov and they said they are working on it.

I called them again after 2 weeks, they told they are working on it. 

I called them back again after a week, they told me they are trying to make an appt for interview for me. 

Didn’t hear anything again, I called them again, and again no clear answer 

Then I completely gave up on them!

after around 5 months I got my interview for my citizenship but still after 5 months they couldn’t find a date for my interview in the same office for my I751.

My house is around 4 hrs away from my interview office.

that will be terrible if I have to go back there again!!!

I really hope that's not the case... That's why you should go prepared in case they also do your i751 interview that day... bring all your documents and if your spouse can you with you it would probably be a good idea. Sounds to me like many times they might end up doing both interviews for you, even though on the notice we are only told it is the n400 interview.

My documents (evidence)will be same for I-751

But for sure I will take the copy of I-751 form, I sent them, in case they do an interview for it.

my husband will go to the interview with me.

Hello, last July 2017 my journey to become citizenship started, everything seemed to be going well - had my interview Jan 2nd week but 2 days ago online status got updated to "Request for Initial evidence was mailed". My interview officer in NJ was very nice, i answered all the questions and it was over in 15mins to 20mins. No documents were asked except GC, passport & drivers license.

She said everything looks ok but she cannot make the decision right away but i did pass the interview.

I am waiting for the RFE letter to see what documents they are asking but just wondering to see if anyone else is in the same situation. My GC 10 years is expiring this Aug so bit nervous on how long this RFE could delay etc.

 

Filing date: July 2017

Interview date: Jan 2018

Hi fellow July filers, 

 

After months of no update, I checked my case status today with this update:

 

"On December 20, 2017, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxx. We will send you an interview notice."

 

I have not received any letter in the mail as yet, and I am really worried I may have missed my date.

 

Does anyone have any indication of the lag between seeing this update and when the actual interview date was? I'm 31 days out now...and no letter. Missing this interview will set my application back significantly.

 

Any input is appreciated!!
