I was expecting a combo interview.. I called USCIS and spoke to tier 2 officers multiple times and even tho they said different things every time - the common thing they did say was that my application had been combined because the NBC had requested my file from CSC to be sent to them.

Guess if I was surprised getting a text Monday that my I-751 case was updated and that card was being produced - then I-751 approval letter today and text saying card was sent. And during all this NO MOVEMENT AT ALL on my N400. I am not even in-line for interview and it's been 4 months (3 months and 3 weeks since biometrics).

I guess I shouldn't be too stressed out about this (and I'm not) since I already am getting my 10yr GC in the next couple of days (unless USPS loose it somewhere). But what the heck? No update on N400 at all for 4 months?? People are getting their interviews and oaths left and right on this thread and I'm stuck where I was 4 months ago. LOL

At least I will not have a ROC interview and no combo interview at this point since N400 interview does not require spouse to be there (not that that would be an issue) - just saying..

Anywho, just my 5 cents worth of rants. lol

Ah I remember you! We have a similar timeline for both ROC and N-400. At least your ROC has been approved! Congrats! I haven't heard anything for my ROC and as for my N_400...I'm in the similar situation as you...Not in line yet.

Oh yeah - I remember you too. :)

When did you file N400? What's your current status? What's your field office?

EDIT: Just realized I could check the tracker - and I did. :) Got it, we are just days apart.. I guess the delay is/was pending ROC. You might get your ROC completed as well then - before your N400 starts moving.. Might be that NBC requested your file as well, but CSC didn't send it because they were already in the process of adjudicating your I-751.. Seems thats what happened to me..

So today I met with my lawyer for my upcoming interview next week. I was told that the local office has changed their policies for the N-400, specifically regarding evidence for tax returns. He said there's a lot of new immigration officers there and some of his applicants that brought their tax returns from whomever prepared them got told that it wasn't good enough. They were told they needed to bring an official Tax transcript from the IRS. Just a heads up to order that from the IRS website if you haven't already.

I also have not heard a thing about my I751 application. I hope that NBC picked up the application and that it will be a joint interview. Bringing my spouse and child just in case. He told me one of his applicants were in the same boat as me as a joint applicant, but that they cancelled the interview a week before the interview because the I751 applicaton wasn't adjudicated.

Going to be a very stressful week anticipating different situations..

Ugh so annoying. I believe tax returns are only necessary for citizenship based on marriage? Or is it required for five years as well?

I would assume just marriages as you are proving joint filing. But yes very annoying...

It's not required to be submitted when filing under the 5-year rule, but the IO can ask for them, or other documents, during the interview (I brought mine just in case).

My birth certificate wasn't a required document, and the IO asked to see it during my interview and added a copy to my file...luckily I had brought it to the interview as well.

Hi everyone, this post is about my infopass experience. I went for an infopass appointment last Friday to inquire about my oath ceremony - more specifically why my oath hadn't been scheduled despite it being 7 weeks since my interview. My case was put on quality review on the day of the interview and I hadn't had any communication since then. The customer service officer called the I.O. in charge of my case but he wasn't available. I didn't get any update other than that my file is with him. It was good to know that my file hadn't been lost or misplaced. The customer service officer said to wait for a few more weeks as it hadn't been 90 days as yet (that's the timeline to complete a quality review). With the holiday season on our doorstep I believe it would take a miracle for some movement to take place on my case now. Today marks 8 weeks ( 2 months) that my case is in quality review and no oath ceremony has been scheduled.

Regardless, I learned a few general things from my appointment:

1. The Washington DC field office only schedules naturalization ceremonies at the field office for military personals and people who had to be re-tested. Everyone else gets scheduled through the courts I'm assuming.

2. The officer in customer service can directly call the I.O. in charge of your case file for an update. If the I.O. isn't there, the customer service officer can (hopefully) pass on the message to him/her

3. If your case goes for quality review then their system will mention the officer it was assigned to. If the system shows it is with the I.O. originally in charge of your case then either the file has come back to him/her and completed the quality review or it hasn't been sent out in the first place .

Good information. I also called uscis today and spoke to a level 2 officer who sent a message to the IO as to why a decision hasn't been made on my case. My case is also  8 weeks. Was your case approved on the spot?

@praizee it was recommended for approval and then sent to quality review. Your tier 2 officer was nice! Mine have just been horrible and unhelpful. I'll call again today and ask to send a message to the I.O. if they agree to...

Just FYI... I paper-filed in July, and have my interview 2nd week of January 2018 in Portland, Oregon.

Congrats! I'm jealous, I just wish that the Seattle FO just send my file down to Portland for faster processing.
