I am a USC!!!!! It was a beautiful ceremony at the museum. The representative from USCIS is very friendly and humorous. There were magnificent symphony playing. We also got to visit the museum. The museum closes on Monday so it feels like private viewing just for us. There were 37 people from 18 countries. They called each country and every time people stood up, there were lots of round of applause. It's a just a nice feeling to be appreciated. 

 

My family and friends came and they all mentioned how nice the ceremony was. They also commented how strict the oath of allegiance is - bear arm, give up loyalty, etc. They said they will never understand the whole predicament because they were born here. It's an eye opening experience to see what people sacrifice to be here.

 

To everyone here, thank you so much. I would never be here on the finish line, this quickly, without all your help and advice.

 

To those who are still waiting, I wish you good luck!!!! My mother in law gave me this card - see below. The inside card said "Great things come to those who GO for it!" That's so true, at least for me. ^_^ 

 

And also, Happy Thanksgiving!!! :jest:.

Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Unless people arent updating...I would have to say the July thread is proof that on-line filing was the way to go!  I dont even know why I didnt think of it at the time.  Congratulations to all who are moving forward and all of those who have had their interview and are now citizens.  Way to go!

@SamBillz thanks for inquiring. It is SO frustrating! I can't even begin to tell you the level of mixed messages I have been getting regarding this. The only communication I received was on the day of my interview and since then it has been radio silence for the past 5 weeks. My ELIS account says my case is approved but uscis.gov says my case is in quality review right after it said In-line for oath ceremony. The customer service reps at USCIS are USELESS. Surprisingly, I have had zero luck with L2 officers as well - I spoke to four different L2 officers and got the same mixed messages. I have scheduled an infopass appointment for next week and sent an email asking for clarification (no reply there either). I might do a walk-in this Friday since I basically live 7 minutes away from the field office where I had the interview and where my file is sitting now collecting dust. I will keep everyone posted.

Don't forget to bring the approval notice you got after the interview!  I'd also see if you can ask to speak to the officer who interviewed you, or a supervisor.

Congrats ARDallas. I had my own Oath a day after yours. I filed June 29, had my Oath Nov 21.  But i don't know who pulled down the June 2017 filers thread.. Congrats and good luck to those still waiting.

Partial update -- my wife was sent home from her N-400 interview in early November because ROC was still pending. Apparently combo interviews aren't offered in Chicago, alas. (So frustrating after we've read of so many others getting to do the combo in our situation!) The officer told her something about how her files would be sent "downstairs" to where I-751s are processed and that she'd be called to an ROC interview; lo and behold, such an interview has now been scheduled for 12/12. Most likely it's just for ROC, though who knows; maybe now they'll throw in the combo when we're least expecting it.... :-) Either way, I'll report back after it happens.

Thanks! In the vast majority of cases, ROC interviews are waived. Interviews usually only occur in case of suspected fraud, or because some people are just selected randomly. In our case, we have no red flags whatsoever (assuming that there's not some employee out there triggering extra interviews for same-sex couples, which I really doubt is happening), so I'm assuming it's just a result of the aborted citizenship interview. We're not worried, and since the interview location is only a few blocks from her workplace, it's luckily not even a hardship to get there. Just waiting until the day comes around! :-)

I was expecting a combo interview.. I called USCIS and spoke to tier 2 officers multiple times and even tho they said different things every time - the common thing they did say was that my application had been combined because the NBC had requested my file from CSC to be sent to them.

 

Guess if I was surprised getting a text Monday that my I-751 case was updated and that card was being produced - then I-751 approval letter today and text saying card was sent. And during all this NO MOVEMENT AT ALL on my N400. I am not even in-line for interview and it's been 4 months (3 months and 3 weeks since biometrics).

 

I guess I shouldn't be too stressed out about this (and I'm not) since I already am getting my 10yr GC in the next couple of days (unless USPS loose it somewhere). But what the heck? No update on N400 at all for 4 months?? People are getting their interviews and oaths left and right on this thread and I'm stuck where I was 4 months ago. LOL

 

At least I will not have a ROC interview and no combo interview at this point since N400 interview does not require spouse to be there (not that that would be an issue) - just saying..

Naturalization (Eligeble for Naturalization 07/16/2017) - Package send out late, not sure I was going to send it out before or after ROC approval.
[07/29/2017]: Day 00 - Full package sent to Phoenix, AZ lockbox using Fedex 3 day.
[08/02/2017]: Day 04 - Package arrived, signed by E.Dejesus.
[08/02/2017]: Day 04 - NOA
[08/07/2017]: Day 09 - Check cashed
[08/21/2017]: Day 23 - Walk-in Biometrics
[12/08/2017]: Day 133 - In-line for interview
[05/09/2018]: Day 282 - Interview scheduled (text/email notification)
[06/13/2018]: Day 319 - Interview (Recommended approval) - Officer said Oath should be July 12 in Oakland.
[06/25/2018]: Day 331 - Oath letter received, scheduled for oath the 12th of July.
[07/12/2018]: Day 348 - Oath - COMPLETED. I'm a US Citizen
 
ROC (Eligeble for ROC 07/16/2016) - Package send out late as we were too busy to compile it.
ROC Approved in 484 days. 10yr GC in hand in 489 days.
[08/01/2016]: Day 00 - Full package (8.5 lbs) sent to California Processing center using USPS Flat Rate Box (late at night).
[08/04/2016]: Day 04 - Package delivered.
[08/08/2016]: Day 08 - Check cashed.
[08/09/2016]: Day 09 - NOA and 1 year extension letter arrived., dated 08/04/2016
[09/16/2016]: Day 47 - Received Biometrics Appointment for 09/28/2016
[09/27/2016]: Day 58 - Early walk-in biometrics.

[11/27/2017]: Day 484 - Text/Email notification - Card was ordered

[11/30/2017]: Day 487 - Approval letter received, dated 11/27/2017; Postmark 11/28/2017

[11/30/2017]: Day 487 - Text/Email notification - Card was mailed to me

[12/02/2017]: Day 489 - 10yr I-551 (GREEN CARD) in hand

 

AOS from L1 through USC Spouse (instead of work based AOS - PERM approved in May)

AOS Approved in 109 days (5 days after interview). GC in hand in 117 days.

[06/27/2014]: Filed

[10/20/2014]: Day 117 - I-551 (GREEN CARD) in hand
