I did. It says "Case Was Received, and it gave me the NBC* ...."

And I got the NOA in the mail earlier this week, and it says there Priority Date was 7/14/17. 

I have no idea how to do the tracker, I guess just copy n paste, it can't be that bad that I messed it up right ha! I'll def try to do that soon!!!

Just a couple of quick questions since I'm finding conflicting info on the net, if anyone knows...

 

1) How "close" to my GC expiring do I have to be to receive the free i-551 stamp in my foreign passport? I know I'm entitled to the free stamp because of my filing date...just made it under by 4 days!

2) Do I have to show proof of travel to get the stamp, or is it acceptable just for the card to be expiring (and I don't want to be in possession of an expired card).  I know my LPR status doesn't expire.

3) On average, what is the wait time between scheduling an infopass appointment and the actual appointment date?  Can I choose the date myself and confirm it online, or is it like biometrics where they send me a letter with the date they choose?

 

 I do know that I will be travelling sometime between my in-line for interview and the actual interview date....just want to ensure all my ducks are in a row.

Hi peachlings, we're totally on the same boat ish ... I assume our biometric letter and appointments probably going to happen around the same time.  Would be cool if you keep us (me mainly) updated - I'll be back to my home country for 3 weeks starting mid next week ... have this feeling that the biometric letter will be sent out when I am away.  And there's a chance that I'll miss the biometric appointment all together. But family emergency comes first, so I'll just have to deal with this when I am back. Would appreciate your timeline update when you get your biometric appointment though, so I know what to expect for mine too!

Be careful with this...if you do a no-show without requesting a reschedule first, they can determine you've abandoned your application altogether (as per the back of the biometrics letter) and send you a denial letter.

 

Make sure you have someone vigilant checking your mail just in case....sorry to hear about your family emergency.

Sure thing u_got_that, as soon as I have an update I'll post it here. Judging by other people's timelines, it looks like our bio letter will be mailed early next week. Fingers crossed it works out well for you, too! I understand that the bio can be rescheduled provided you contact them in advance and you explain your circumstances. In my case I'll probably try an early walk-in because it won't be very convenient to travel to my ASC the second week of August, which is when I expect the bio to be scheduled. We'll see.

Thanks @Going through  - I am aware of this, hoping that I will be OK.  I did find this on the web though, saying that USCIS doesn't usually throw out the application immediately - I guess 30 days grace period? Not sure if this is an accurate one - since it's from 2010.

Make sure you have someone vigilant checking your mail just in case....sorry to hear about your family emergency.

I agree with Going through on this one. it wont be a bad business practice for them to make you pay for another filing payment. Also, denying your application will open a small window for them to handle someone else's case. Do whatever you can to make it count this time around instead of just reapplying all over again (worst case scenario). I am sure you are extremely worried with all this. Sorry about the situation. Best of luck! Hope for the best; prepare for the worst!

From talking to a few people, it seems USCIS used to give a final warning letter after a no-show giving a 10-day grace period in which to submit biometrics or forfeit the application.

 

Whether they give an official grace period now, I can't say.

Thanks @SamBillz - We can ask my neighbors to check for our mails while I am gone but hubby is not fond of this idea, his word "leaving us very vulnerable giving someone free access to our mail" - I guess he trusts our neighbors but not 100% :P .... 

I guess I have a few days to change his mind :) ....

I will try to convince my husband that our neighbors should check our mailbox for us while we're away - he's not keen on the idea. Thanks again!
