Don't let it scare you.

The N400 is the last stage where USCIS can catch any errors in the original GC approval. It's common for them to look into how the initial green card was obtained (and that the AOS and ROC was approved appropriately) as that is part of the adjudication process when deciding on the N400.

I applied under the 5-year rule...a good 12 years after my greencard was approved and the IO questioned the validity of my relationship/marriage/how I first crossed the border as well during my interview. She also verified that she had my marriage certificate on file as well and everything still "fit" with what I was telling her now.

Hello ..Hope everyone's case is progressing well.. I recieved a case status update Day before yesterday saying they have mailed a notice for my oath ceremony.. I'm yet to receive the physical copy, I'm hoping to receive it tmrw or Friday& expecting the oath to be sometime late December

Most likely Monday by the latest, if they mailed it out only 2 days ago---there's probably no mail delivery on Friday or Saturday because of Veteran's Day----you're almost at the end!

hey guys, so I had THOUGHT that the oath ceremony was scheduled, because on Nov 2nd we had this status update: " USCIS has scheduled your oath ceremony and will mail you the appointment notice."

BUT then we had another status update the same day (and the other status disappeared, no where to be found). This is now what our status says:

Updated: November 2, 2017

We approved your application

Your final step to becoming a citizen is to attend your naturalization ceremony

The status on Elis is: "On November 2nd Case Was Submitted For Quality Review Based On An Approval Recommendation".

So it seems like maybe my hubby is "In Line" for his Oath Ceremony. Does that seem similar to anyone else's experience?

That's normal....he's inline for the ceremony scheduling until they actually place him into a specific date.

There should be another status update later on saying the notice has been mailed....that's when you know to expect the physical letter then.

Towards the end, the officer told me that everything looks good in the case and there shouldn't be any problems, but she can't recommend the case for approval at the time since they had to verify marriage related documents since my case was under the marriage category. She said I could expect to hear something within the next 3-4 weeks She gave me the N652 form that stated that I had passed all the tests and the 'a decision could not be made at this time' remark.

I was really hoping to get an approval the same day so I'm kinda disappointed. Anyone with a similar experience before?

My Oath Date mail took 7 business days to get to me, and the office is two hours away only. I am used to this

Just wanted to note the experience getting my US passport---I just received it today, little less than 2 weeks from applying for it--and I did NOT pay for expedited shipping...seems maybe there are working quicker with passports? Just wanted to pass this along since it may save someone the extra $60 for expedited if you don't really need it any quicker.

HI..I got my oath letter today and I'm scheduled for Oath on December 6th. Its funny how the status update on Nov 6th said we have mailed the letter and if you don't receive it by Dec 6th reach out to us, so you would have thought the oath ceremony sometime after Dec 6th, that way if someone didn't get the letter they can still get in touch with USCIS and receive the letter and attend oath on time. Anyways I'm glad i got it on Dec 6th , the sooner the better as I have trip planned outside the country in Feb.

thats fantastic. I applied for a renewal passport for my 10 year old...and it took only 9 days!

GC-Date: The 'Resident Since' Date located on your first green card.
Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.
Cashd: Date your check was cashed / credit card was charged by USCIS.
NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints: Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview.

Just wanted to pass this along since it may save someone the extra $60 for expedited if you don't really need it any quicker.

Thanks @Going through..this helps..I was thinking of doing expedited thinking that normal processing might take a month..I need to get my U.S passport so that I could apply for Visa ASAP for my international travel in Feb..
